This one was a bit different from my normal reads. I wanted to understand a bit more about Islam itself vice the history of Islamic nations or empires. That being said, I found this type a bit more difficult for me. I spent quite some time digging into definitions and rehashing some of the previous material. Overall I learned quite a bit from this one. I would have preferred a general study of Islam over discussions about the authors travels in the Middle East. Yet still a good one.
