A great ending to a good trilogy - even with too many over-stated conversations…

**Spoiler Alert** - review will contain spoilers

I soooo wanted to say a perfect ending to the trilogy, but I can’t. I was so looking forward to reading this one, to giving it a 5-star rating, like I do with most of NR’s novels, but I can’t.

We continue the Sign of Seven trilogy, this time with Gage and Cybil’s story. While it’s obvious to the reader that these two will e...more

Third and last book in the Sign of Seven trilogy by Nora Roberts. And possibly my favorite of the three. It's a tough call between this one and Blood Brothers. I think maybe I liked the romance in book 1 a little bit more (it's a little sweeter), and the overall plot progression of this one (book 3) more. So yeah, it's a bit of a toss-up to which I liked best.

The Pagan Stone continues/ends the tale of Hawkins Hollow, which has been plagued for twenty-years by a nasty evil demon w...more

So, there really isn't a point in my reviewing this book, just read Marianne's and it will tell you EXACTLY what I thought:

"I really really enjoyes this book. I want to say it was my favorite of all three but I don't really remember the other two very well. I know that I was less confused in terms of the characters in this book then I was the second. I LOVED Cybil and Gages relationship and how they great into a couple. It wasn't sappy, cheesy romance. It just was. The ending wa...more

I'm sorry, I was just bored by this book. Research, research, research interspersed with predictable demon attacks. I didn't really feel a connection to the characters and I started to skim a lot of the book. As is often the case, especially with the last two trilogies, after a two and a half book buildup, the ending was anticlimactic. I still think Three Sisters Island was her best trilogy with a supernatural thread and I kind of feel like the trilogies in general need a reboot--they don't ...more

I absolutely loved the first two books and was anxiously awaiting to read the final book of this trilogy. I will preface by saying that I love Nora Roberts and everything that she writes. I inhaled the first two books; I read them in a day. I waited six long months for the release of the third book - The Pagan Stone. With that being said, I hate to say this, but I was a little disappointed. I can't put my finger on one particular thing, but this book didn't grab me like Blood Brothers and Th...more

OK, I'm just going to write my review of the whole trilogy here. And I'm not entirely sure if it's a review of this particular trilogy or a review of Nora Roberts in recent years. So, just hang in there.

I have been reading Nora Roberts for about 10 years now. I'm pretty sure that I've read most (if not all) of what she's written. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that she now officially SUCKS! Now, I understand, when an author is as prolific as Roberts is, you're going to get ...more

This book is the end to the Blood Brothers Trilogy. Although a bit predictable, it is a good end to the series and a very quick, easy read.

This book focuses on Cybil and Gage. They happen to be the two individuals that haven't "hooked up" yet. Cal and Quinn are already engaged, and Fox and Layla are well on their way. I thought that this book focused on Gage and Cybil much more than on the task of beating the Evil and saving Hawkins Hollow from the plague that it suffer...more

I honestly miss the passion she showed us in the 70's, 80's and 90's. I went.."what!?" and had to re-read the last half of the story...to verify that yup! it really was mishmash. Ah well, the masses will buy it and NR won't be hurting for cash, I'm sure. I still honor Nora Roberts as "once upon a time, the best female author on the planet" but lately the books come out as assembly line projects. Predictable... (or is my lament only because I've bought and read every NR book ...more

Overall, I didn't feel this was her strongest trilogy, but I was not disapointed. It had the romance, with a little magic and fantasy thrown in. I prefered the CIRCLE trilogy more, or the THREE SISTERS one. This was the last book, I found it the best, but also predictable. I can't say too much w/o giving the plot away, so I won't.

The third in the 'Sign of Seven' trilogy (why it's not called the 'Blood Brothers' trilogy is beyond me), The Pagan Stone sets up the final couple in the series, Gage and Cybil. Gage is an interesting guy, the only one of the three Blood Brothers who spends nearly all his time away their hometown, Hawkins Hollow. He doesn't have any family, nor any real ties to the town, other than through the bloodstone, but still comes back to fight to save the tiny town every seven years.

Three men, three women, a dog and an ancient evil. Three books and three love stories. Nora Roberts writes good books with interesting, supenseful plots. In this series, Nora Roberts shakes hands with Stephen King as the horror evolves. Three boys born on the same day 7-7 swear blood brotherhood at an ancient stone in the woods in Western Maryland. They release an ancient evil imprisoned there. Every seven years after that, the small town goes berserk with killings violence and fires and m...more

This is the third book in the Sign of Seven Trilogy

Every seven years the town of Hawkins Hollow undergoes a change. Animals turn rabid, people turn on each other and the supernatural becomes reality. All this happens because of the blood ritual three boyhood friends performed on their 10th birthday on July 7th 1987. That ritual unleashed a demon and every seven years the boys do what they can to save the town and its people. This year they plan on stopping the demon for good.

This trilogy wasn't my favorite of hers, but it had it's moments. I listened to the 1st and the 3rd books on audio, and read the 2nd one in paperback. The reader isn't my favorite, so I'm sure that had an impact. But the story was good. A little mystical, but with enough character and heart to draw me in, and the story was pacy enough. The friendships are well crafted, and that makes all the difference. Overall, it's a fun read. I wish I had taken my sister's advice and waited to read #1 unti...more
