I brought this book from Brazil, read it in portuguese and bought an english translation so Jack could read it too. It is a critical look at the corruption at many different levels. The writing is wonderful. I hope the translation keeps the same tone.

I tried so hard to like this book! But it's too hard for me keep reading.
It's boring and pointless.
Sorry Ubaldo Ribeiro!

A strange book, but I liked it mostly (but you should know I'm easy to please). If you like Brazil, you'll appreciate this book. It's about a corrupt public health officer and what he learns about some strange genetic testing that's taking place in the area. It touches a little on the religious and supernatural, and it gets a little weird and preachy at the end. Not sure if I recommend this one.
