I give this something between 3 and 4 stars. I enjoyed the story but the weird style and flash backs turned me off. Plus I wanted to slap the heroine many times but I guess for the story to work she had to be an idiot.
I was a little dubious about whether I would enjoy a story set over 24 hours as I’ve never read anything like it before but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.
Maggie is a very confused and desperate person who has one last chance to contact her step brother to see if he is willing to help her so she doesn’t lose everything. She has had a complicated life that never seems to go right for her.

Maggie has not had an easy life. She has loved and lost and, with lots of regrets, feels as if she has come out stronger on the other side of life. When parental responsibilities and life changes catch up with her, she draws on memories from her past – both the good and the bad, and goes looking for the one chance she thinks she has left to help her.

[my rating is really 3.5 stars:]
This was a cute book. I liked the ensemble cast and how the story all came together in the end.
Its been a while since I shed a tear in a book, and while I am a total softie, there were some parts that will pull at your heartstrings.
Alot of people didn't like the flashbacks in the book. I have to admit, while they didn't really bother me, sometimes it did feel like there was more flashback than current story.
But all in all, a sweet book.

This book was a good read. It was sweet and has a good ending. The characters are well written and very realistic. It has all kinds of emotions and feelings like loss, insecurity, anger, forgiveness, and love. Maggie, Jack, and Dillon are brought together through many hardships that seem almost unsurpassable. The dilemmas in Maggies life push the story on and everyone can reminisce and appeal to the remembered or regretted pasts and the chance that some things are no longer a possibility. Jac...more
While I found this book to be quite predictable and the circumstances a little too coincidental, I enjoyed reading it. I liked the author's writing style; it's easy to read, which is a good thing when you're just looking to be entertained for a couple days. I gave it above three stars not because I thought it was a really great story, but because it lightened my mood and served its purpose of entertaining me for a while.
I'm only giving this one the 'ok' rating. I thought the delivery was weak and could have been much stronger if the author went into past events a little more. Some of the flashbacks were the most interesting parts. I found myself skimming pages without really loosing any of the storyline, which is always disappointing for me.
This is yet another free Kindle book I added back in 2010 and then never got around to. This book had no real redeeming qualities. It was a totally ridiculous book with no real redeeming characters, and a story that's been told over and over again.
Girl and Boy fall in love. Girl has secret, so Girl breaks up with Boy. Girl and Boy still love each other....chaos ensues to allow Boy to save Girl.
This book was just plain dumb. Also, since when do people wear wedding rings on their third fingers...more

The concept of a book that takes place over the period of no more than twenty-four hours could be a good one, in the hands of a talented author. However, Boniface is not a talented author.
The characterization was lacking, the circumstances contrived, and the execution of the plot was just that: an execution. I was relieved when I finished the book so I could move on to something better.
This is the first, and almost certainly the last novel I will read by Allie Boniface.

This book was written by a Homer High School graduate. She was the daughter of Emily's guidance counselor. The book was well done. It contained a romance, a famiy torn apart, and a former love who the main character runs into ten years after they split up. It was a decent read and I would read future books written by her.

Allie was born and raised in a very small town in upstate New York, which probably explains her fascination with the magic of small town life.
She earned her B.A. in English, with a minor in Education, from the University of Rochester in New York and then moved to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she earned her M.A. in English Literature.
