Her trip in time to 1785 Scotland was supposed to be a vacation, so why did Blythe feel that her stay at the MacKenzie pile of stones had her imagination working overtime, making helpful suggestions about every bump in the night: demon, considers you yummy take-out; really ugly gargoyle, wants to sleep in your bed.

So she wasn't at all surprised when the first

I really, really liked this book. The title and the cover made me think it was going to be a serious sexual book. There's sex but lots more laughter and a little sadness. She reminded me of Kresley Cole a lot here. Would recommend this book.

I like the books with Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust, aka Cosmic Troublemakers, as they are fun to read about. This couple was just ok. Blythe and others traveled back to a Scottish castle in 1785 where vampire, Darach had just arrived back home. Blythe is from the 24th century and this is a business trip for her. Ganymede spends most of the book worried about getting into trouble with "The Big Boss" so he wasn't as fun as usual.

Sometimes a book just resonates with you, and this book did that for me. Blythe 56-2310, the fifty-sixth Blythe born in 2310, has signed up for a time travel visit to Scotland in 1785. The trip was organized by that cosmic troublemaker, Ganymede, who some readers may be familiar with from other Nina Bangs series. (In fact, I believe that Master of Ecstasy was actually the first appearance of that cosmic troublemaker duo, Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust.) Ganymede has taken over the castle the belo ...more

OMG I READ THIS YEARS AGO AND JUST SAW IT ON GOODREADS! It was a fun read back then. With an insanely hot Scottish vamp, a woman from the future, and all sorts of sci fi fantasy fun. I need to read this again and see if I still enjoy it.

This was a great start to this series. You are introduced to 2 hilarious supporting characters that play a part this series as well as the Castle of Dark Dreams series. Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust are cosmic trouble makers. A woman from the future meets a vampire when she takes a vacation to the past. This vacation is important for Blythe, it's a working vacation. She has to complete a job without becoming emotionally involved with the person she needs to make happy. Darach Mackenzie is the su ...more

oh this book is so good, I love how she describes all the characters, she is a wonderful writer, I am so glad that she describes the vampires without really pale skin, because not all vampires are pale skinned, just like in the books that I read they are not all pale white that is how they blend in with the other people in this books, and I love sparkle, she is so funny, she tries to be such a trouble maker but somehow she always ends up helping someone. the hero in this book is great but she doe ...more

This was my first introduction to paranormal romance and what a trip it was! I was introduced to Sparkle Stardust and Ganymede (Cosmic Trouble makers) what a riot! I love to read Nina Bangs and every book she puts out there! She is one of my favorite authors, she has me laughing out literally and she has me crying just as easily. Her characters are witty and heroic and just selfish enough that you have to love them. She has all kinds of super natural beings from the Jersey Devil to The Godddess ...more

Book 1 in the MacKenzie Vampires series. Sparkle Stardust and Ganymede are fantastic! I really enjoyed the time travel aspect of the story. I want a Bittyfluff of my own! Typical paranormal romance (nothing wrong with that), good action and adventure, good sex, and funny characters. I have no hesitation to read more in this series.

Great read. Another great book by Nina Bangs. I loved reading about Darach and Blythe's story. And as always Mede and Sparkle just add something special to the story.

This book is about a vampire by the name of Darach MacKenzie and a woman named Blythe. Blythe lives in the future and takes a travel tour to the distant past which happens to be the Scottish Highlands of 1785. This is where she meets Darach. Blythe works for a company called Ecstasy INC which basically is a company that is hired out to make people happy. Blythe discovers Darach and decides that it is her job to make him happy. He on the other hand doesn't exactly feel like he is unhappy. She goe ...more

The two characters that stand out in my mind from this book are the two cosmic gods called Sparkle Starlight and Ganymede. Ganymede used to be THE "Lord of Chaos" who caused trouble throughout many universe but when the "Big Boss" tells him to act Nice or else, he's has come up with a different job so he opens up a time-travel agency that sends people back to the past for a pleasure filled vacation in 1785 Scottish castle. Unknown to Ganny, it's belongs to clan of vampires that have their humani ...more

They're reading another one of her books in the Vaginal Fantasy Book Club in June but I found this series on Scribd. Bangs is a good writer with decent characters but the plot is all over the place - sci/fi/time travel/vampires/gods/Scotland and language in 2300 sounds a lot like today with some made up words thrown in. Also her older book covers are awful. Still she's a good writer so I'm going to try some more of her stuff and see how it goes.

A tick-the-boxes vampire romance. Scotland, check; vampires check; time-travel, check; culture clash, check, magic, check; I could continue but it's not that bad. Blythe (oh yes the Blythe Spirit thing is used on the cover) is on a holiday back to 1785 from 2339, when the world is overpopulated and longevity is taken for granted. He's Darach McKenzie, from a family of vampires who is in the castle to deal with some of the out-of-control vampires who are homing back to the castle as the ancestral ...more

What an incredible read, I don't know how I've not come across this author before but I've certainly been missing out.
The dark and deadly but incredible sexy Vampire Darach, and Blythe, the strong independent 'woman from another time' are the central characters, with a host of supporting characters, including Ganymede and Sparkle Startdust, they are cosmic troublemakers, I love these characters, they are fun to read with the mischief they create.
This book is incredibly well written and has it al

Definitely different. So, this chic books a travel from the 2300's back to the 1300 to 1700 for a 2 week vacation. Doesn't believe in Vampires and then falls for one. I really don't care for futuristic reading, but it was interesting the items that were shared from the future. I still prefer the past anyday. I am glad this book was completely read from in the past. I could not have finished it were it to go back to her time. Although one thing that I found to be truly incredible were the sex sce ...more

This first novel of the MacKenzie Vampire Series is a decent start to a very funny series. I will admit if I had not read Night Bites first I never would have made it through this book. It isn't that it's a bad book; I simply found it a little too busy. This book combines time travel (distant past and distant future at one time), vampires, and cosmic troublemakers all at once. It is a wonderfully fast paced, introduction into this universe. I recommend this book as an introduction to the series, ...more

Blythe (no-last-name) is time-traveling from the 24th century back to 1785. She runs into a 500-year-old vampire named Darach. They both have the hots for each other, but she's been 'assingned' Darach as her next job. She works for Ecstasy, Inc. where her job is to scan people who are depressed and find a way to make them happy. The storyline just sounds hokey and stupid before you realize that the author intends for it to be funny. It doesn't really sound funny until about half-way through the ...more

I wasn't sure what to think of this book at first, but over all I rather liked it. I loved Sparkle the cat - very funny. And although there was quite a bit of sex in the book, it was actually quite well written, so I enjoyed reading it. And there was a pretty decent plot and characterization. I wasn't entirely clear why the women thought they would be given immortality if they had sex with a vampire, but perhaps that is explained better in another book or I skipped over an explanation. I'll defi ...more
This book is quite fun. It's kind of dark, but also a very steamy read, and has a lot of humor to balance it out. Blythe is so gung-ho on her wish to make people happy, she should be like saccharin. Yet, she is so ridiculous, it makes up for a lot of it. And Darach is just yummy. I also love the manifestation he caused of her greatest fear. It was priceless and simply so cute to picture. This is an interesting spin on the vampire mythos and I look forward to reading more of this series and delvi ...more
Master of Ecstasy is a paranormal romance that lean towards erotica without actually being erotica. It certainly has its share of sex, but I don’t think it has anything more than a lot of other romances I’ve read. What it also has is its fair share of humor, which cuts the sexiness quite a bit. The world-building is very odd, a mixture of 1700s Scotland and the future. I’m not sure that I’ll read any more in the series. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t really hold my interest much.

I had high hopes for this one, as Dakota Cassidy seems to be such a big fan. I was hoping for a fun romance with heart. But it jumped right into the story without developing the characters at all and felt extremely contrived and silly. But not fun silly. This one just isn't for me. I didn't even want to finish it.

It was ok. Ummm. It wasn't too busy for me, but the whole time travel thing was a bit different for me. While I think I could really get behind reading a really good time travel based plot, this book isn't what I would call a quality example of time travel. I liked the guy in this book. He was yummy. I don't know. Not sure I would read this one again.

Oh my God!
Stupid, silly, boring and a waste of my time.
I rolled my eyes so much I thought they were going to stay looking upward.
The plot was so very very stupid, the characters... ugh!, I liked Darach but Blythe was so annoying I wanted her gone, dead or in a coma, just so she would shut up.
I really liked Sparkle, she was fun!

I couldn't be bothered to finish this one. It was not my cup of tea. But I did read Eternal Pleasure by Nina Bangs and really enjoyed it.. so I'm not sure what happened with this one. I just wasn't interested. Oh well.

Talk about misspent youth. What did I do during those lazy summer days of childhood when I could’ve been honing my writing skills? Nothing. Okay, so I spent a lot of time dreaming I was a cowgirl with a trusty black stallion. Oh, and I read every Walter Farley horse novel. I was an only child so I relied on my imagination to supply the excitement in my life.

By high school, I’d decided to trade in
