Probably you, like myself, have often wished that Lewis Carroll might have found time to write another book about "Alice". Certainly most of the children who have delightedly followed her through "Wonderland" and the "Looking Glass" country have sighed regretfully when Mother finished reading the last chapter to them.

The poems and verses in this book are delightfully witty and nonsensical, and the character dialogue is also silly, rhythmical and clever. The illustrations are quaint and detailed. In those senses, this book does put you in mind of Alice in Wonderland and does a wonderful job of it.

In other senses, I feel this particular continuation falls short or flat. Alice herself at times feels flat, or like she is merely a tool the reader uses to observe rather than a character with personality herself. T

Reminded me of Baum's Oz books, even to his talking to the readers of his story at the end of the book and asked them to write to him. Illustrations were great. After reading this book I tend to read his other books.

Pretty good! Not quite Lewis Carol quality, but entertaining none the less.
