In picture-perfect Rosewood, Pennsylvania, ash-blond highlights gleam in the winter sun and frozen lakes sparkle like Swarovski crystals. But pictures often lie— and so do Rosewood's four prettiest girls.
Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily have been lying ever since they became friends with beautiful Alison DiLaurentis. Ali made them do terrible things—things they had to keep...more

Killer is the sixth book in the Pretty Little Liars series, and this one definitely isn’t my favourite of them.

This instalment of the series made my love for these books waver. I have to admit that it pretty much annoyed me and I got a little bit fed up. It seemed to get a tad repetitive. Aria falling for inappropriate guys, Spencer getting tangled in lies and mistakes, Emily having serious girl/boy issues and Hanna battling to be Queen Bee. It’s been that way since the first book.

A was the only...more

I understand that most people don’t know what it’s like to have their best friend murdered. This is something four girls in Rosewood, Pennsylvania experienced the summer just after seventh grade. “Killer is the sixth book in the Pretty Little Liars series. It also continues the hunt for A. A is an unknown person sending the four liars texts and notes that depict things only their dead friend knew. Of course, as they think it is Alison, their lost friend, there are many signs that it’s someone st...more

It was almost a workout reading the book Killer by Sara Shepard because I had to flip the pages so fast. I had to flip the pages so fast because I wanted to know what happened next. There is a mysterious person who torchers the four main characters, A. The main characters are trying to find out who this person is. How would you like to have someone know your every move? A sets a forest fire with the four girls in the woods. I wanted to uncover what happened to the...more

Would have given it 4 stars if it weren't for the last 2 words I read!

"It was Ali"
I can't believe my eyes. It says that Alison's parents didn't check the body's DNA for some reason.
So, could it really be Ali?!
The things that happened to the girls in between the chapters left me with a very sad face, though. Mostly Spence. I can't believe she lost all her college money savings! It was a stupid thing to do anyway. Why doesn't she just live with her mum without buying an apartmen...more

At this point, the formula that all of the books follow is way too repetitive. If I didn't already own all of the books, this is the point where I would definitely give them up. There is going to be some sort of memory of when the girls were younger and Ali was still alive. The girls will flashback to this a million times throughout the book. New information will only be revealed half of the time. There will be at least one party. Aria's story is going to involve her getting involved with an old...more

After the girls find the girl who they though killed their best friend Allie .They feel relief and happiness, but little do they know this is just the begging. After coming back and seeing that Mona is no longer in the woods where they found her they start to figer out that who ever is A- want them all gone and will hurt or destroy anything that is stopping them from doing that. But out of all of this they got to figer all this out without put their self in danger .Because if not then A- can get...more

Sometimes, when reading a Pretty Little Liars novel, I find myself marveling at the girls' lives, disbelieving them. While I, too, hail from Pennsylvania, my hometown is the antithesis of the fictional Rosewood – fictional being the all-important word there, because there are moments when I question whether such places could really exist. But they do. Shop for real estate in the towns which dot the real Main Line outside of Philadelphia; check out the King of Prussia mall which the series' King...more

The girls are still freaked out about Ali’s killer. At first they were convinced it was Ian, but now, they don’t know for sure. They have no idea what to believe, and are getting new messages from a new A. Spencer has met what she thinks is her biological mother, but hasn’t told anyone about it for a friend/rival, Andrew. He thinks that she should be careful and not give 100 percent trust into this woman. Hanna has to do everything she possibly can with her new stepsister to be. This wasn’t her...more

The night of Rosewood Day was held at Spencer's house. Spencer found Ian in the woods and when she later returned with the police, Ian was gone, he just vanished. While the police continue to search for Ian based on the details provided by Spencer, Ana, Hanna, & Emily, they begin to wonder if the four girls made up a story for attention. Emily, Ana, Hanna, & Spencer all have an idea of stealing Ali's piece of the Time Capsule flag. This is a tradition at Rosewood Day: the principal cuts...more

I'm not even going to bother posting the jacket cover description because it is so ridiculous and not related to the plot of the novel. It includes the line "Spencer is stealing - from her family." She's not. The other lines about what the characters are up to are equally irrelevant, and the rest of it is just background (Ali's dead, the girls are being stalked. We've known this since book one).

That said, these books just keep getting more and more mysterious. And I love the cover for this one....more

**Spoilers for previous books as usual, but none for this instalment**

Killer is the 6th book in the Pretty Little Liars series. I found it to have a good consistent pace but it still has that annoying repetitious look at the past, every time looking at tiny details that weren’t included before. Even if it was needed to give hints, too much repetition bothers my reading flow.

So the drama continues without a yield since old A kicked the bucket and a new diabolical, yet confusing new A is torturing...more

I started reading the Pretty Little Liars series earlier this year. Each book ended with a cliff hanger and I couldn’t wait to read what happened next with “A”. I enjoyed these books so much, I read them consecutively. The only problem was I had to wait a few months for Killer’s release.

Now that I finished Killer, I have to say I was worth the wait. It immediately began where Wicked concluded: the night of the Rosewood Day benefit held at Spencer’s house. Spencer discovered Ian in the woods and...more

This book was eh... I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I mean I definetly suggest it for anyone who's read the others, but only because I feel like it's a sort of stepping stone to get to book 7. And I'm also kind of over the fact that Sara Shepard is constantly telling us what the girls are wearing and stupid shallow stuff like that. Throughout the first four books, it was fine I guess, I tolerated it, but now it's getting a lil annoying. I really hope that it lets up throughout the other...more

6 books into the series and I am still hooked on the drama and twists! This one was the most intense and suspenseful out of all of them so far for me due to the story line focusing around the murder mystery and things from the past rather than new secrets of the four liars. This review contains spoilers and a plot summary. This book, lie #5 also starts with a flashback to the time capsule competition, however later on when Aria, Hanna, Spencer and Emily are trying to steal Ali’s piece. This enti...more

To get ready for reading this book, I looked back on my reviews of the earlier books and flipped through my copy of Wicked. Just doing that was enough to convince me to go online and buy a copy of the seventh book, Heartless without having even yet cracked open this book (the sixth in the series).

I'm glad I did, because having read this book in one delightfully lazy day (I think I read it in three sittings total), I'm practically panting for the next one. Part of me is always expecting this ser...more

The book I read "Killer" was the last book in the series of The Pretty Little Liars Novels. In the past there were five best friends in a clique; until one day their clique leader Ali, died. Their close friendships became torn apart because of guilt and grief. Until one day all the girls started to recieve threatning texts from some one who signed their name at the end of the text as -A. A seemed to know all the secrets that they never told anyone except their leader Ali. But Ali was dead so it...more

The book Killer by Sara Shepard was a really good book that I would recommend to my friends. There was a lot of suspense in the book and it's part of the Pretty Little Liars series, so each book in the series connects to the next one. The mystery is that on the last day of seventh grade, Hannah, Emily, Aria and Spencer's best friend Alison went missing. It takes place 3 years later and they still can't find her killer. I can't connect this book to anything in my life because I've never had a fri...more

For the first time while reading this series, I did not feel compelled to read the book as fast as possible. This one just didn't keep my interest like the others. I kept putting the book down.

There are a few reasons why I didn't think things were quite up to par. First, Hanna is starting to really get on my nerves. All of her storylines seem about the same. Of all the characters, she has had the least amount of personal growth and self-discovery. I know this is somewhat deliberate since she is...more

While the previous book was more of a filler and scene setter, Killer steals the show. Wicked ended up with the Liars discovering Ian’s body and Killer starts out with the Rosewood P.D and the Medias hunt to find out. No closure comes for the girls and they are thrown into a whole new web of lies and conspiracies while considering maybe Ian was telling the truth, maybe someone else killed Ali.

All of the Liars have unique storylines in this book which made it much more interesting to read than th

As the sixth book in the Pretty Little Liars series, it seems as though Hanna, Aria, Emily and Spencer appear to come closer to finding out what really happened to their childhood best friend Ali, and who “A”, the person who somehow knows of their darkest secrets as they are created, really is. In this novel, each girl has completely different obstacles to overcome. Readers are finally informed of what happened to Ali’s stolen flag piece for their time capsule a few years ago and as they continu...more

The story starts off with the girls discovering what they believe to be the dead body of Ian Thomas, the accused killer of their childhood friend, Alison DiLaurentis. The girls hear a snap in the woods and quickly go for help. But by the time the cops show up to investigate, there is no evidence of a body. Nothing remains in the space where Ian was moments ago.

From this point on, the rest of the story is downhill for Spencer, Hanna, Aria, and Emily. Soon, the girls are branded as liars and can...more

Move over Twilight and your vegetarian vampires. Summer just got a whole lot more interesting. You would think that by book six of the PLL series, author Sara Shepard would have lost steam. But oh no. The delicious mystery continues and a rapid-fire pace. Everything you think you know always turns out to be wrong, and you are forced to reevaluate everything. Paranoia reigns supreme as you wonder who is telling the truth, who is bending the truth, and who is simply keeping quiet. Can we even trus...more

I loved this book so much I didn't want to stop reading it. It starts out when Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Emily Feilds, and Spencer Hastings find Ian Thomas' dead body in the woods behind Spencer house and they then go and tell the police but when the return to the body it's gone. Spencer is getting in trouble when her grandmas will is being read and all of her natural born grandchildern get two million dollars but Spencer isn't in it so she asumes that she is adopted and she goes and tries t...more

“Here you go, dear."" The corners of Mrs. Colbert's mouth curled up. "You like meat, don't you?"
Emily blinked. Was it her, or did that statement seem...loaded? She checked Issac for his reaction, but he was innocently selecting a roll from a wicker basket. "Uh, thanks." Emily said, pulling the platter toward her. She did like meat. The kind you, um, eat.”
