Fabulous! Riveting. Grabs you by the heart and throat and won't let go. "The Missing" is Shiloh Walker's latest release and it's a hell of a book! It's a bit darker and much deeper than any other of her works I've read (and that's quite a few) and in a totally good way.

Taige has always been different. Her psychic gift manifested when she was a very young child, but understanding her 'gift' took quite a lot longer. Her current career, finding lost and taken children, came about after a heartbreak...more

The Missing is a contemporary romantic suspense/thriller. I add thriller because some moments were so intense that I felt like I’d popped a bunch of caffeine pills because my hands were shaking as leafed through the pages lightning fast. Taige, the biracial beauty of a heroine, has psychic abilities and uses them to save lives in the Alabama gulf vacation community that she considers home. Her parents are deceased, so we begin the story with Taige as a teen living with her crazy preacher Uncle t...more

This one was humid sexy. Like I'm on the gulf shore of Alabama and I'm a broken, sad girl falling in love with a rich boy whose gonna save my life and touch my skin and its gonna be electric and heartbreaking before its over. This was my first book by Shiloh Walker and I'm ridiculously impressed, and shocked I haven't read anything by her yet.

It's no surprise that I've got a thing for the south. It's what makes me fangirl over a lot of Sandra Brown's books. I love the heat. The sticky seduction...more

This is my first book by Shiloh Walker that I've read and I have to say this it definitely won't be my last one. I've heard many good things about Walker and I decided to give her novels a try which is how I found out about her contest that would give me a try to sample her work. I won this ARC of her upcoming release The Missing , which comes out in two days on Tuesday November 4th. I loved it so much that I finished it in 8 hours max after I started reading it and I'm sure that is one of the t...more

Okay. I picked this up at a bargain book store during the Hay-on-Wye festival last year. It was £2 so I figured, “Why not?” Oh, and it was shelved under the YA banner.

It was miss shelved!

I had barely bent the spine of this one before the narrative took a turn for the hot 'n' steamy! This is definitely for more mature readers. It's not filth or anything, just an enjoyably risqué crime/romance/paranormal read.

The relationship between Taige and Cullen is touching. And I don't mean that in a dodg...more

Sometimes I just browse my local library’s shelves and peruse the backs and dust jackets of random books and check a few out. Shiloh Walker‘s The Missing is one of those books I came across. It had an intriguing premise and I was in the mood for a story that had a little romance in it after reading a number of novels that were of quite a different persuasion.

Once I got into it–and it didn’t take too long–I definitely found The Missing to be a page turner, although I can also deem it forgettable....more

oooh salah perkiraan

adult *you knowlah hahaha*
ternyata ini paranormal romance - tapi karena kadung dibaca, ya sudahlah, bablas

Well done romantic suspense. Heroine uses psychic abilities to save lives and catch bad guys.

REVIEWER’S OPINION:
Per Publishers Weekly “A sweet love story alternates with an exciting manhunt. Romantic suspense fans will find much to like in Taige, a fearless beauty, half-white, half-black, who's not just another medium clone.” I agree. There are other characters with psychic abilities as well. This was a nicely done story with some interesting plot twists and events.

This was an odd little story which I think is very emotional and dark.

Our Hero Cullen is a bit of a geek but in general a good guy. He meets a young girl name Taige while vacationing with his family. They begin a really sweet love affair for four years I think. The Cullen has a tragic event and lashes out at Taige and the couple stops speaking for 12 years until another incident brings them back together.

The beginning of this story is so well done. I loved the young love aspect and also the emot...more

As a child nothing was right in Taige Branch world – from how she lived to who she lived with, It all boiled to a nightmare with only brief patches of colour in her world. That is until she met Cullen Morgan and his family one summer and then she lived only for the summers.

Taige had a gift, but as a teenager it felt more like a curse and she was not equipped to handle it. Cullen accepted her – HER – gift and all and he made life bearable – that is, until she was not able to save someone importan...more

I inadvertently bought The Departed without knowing that it was a part of a series. I didn't want it to be BDB all over again where I bought the eighth book of the series first without realizing that there were already seven books published ahead of it. I had to make sure I wasn't going to make the same mistake again. The synopsis of the book sounded fantastic so I ordered it right away. I had high hopes that its entirety would just be as gripping and you know what? The Missing did not disappoin...more

Sixteen-year-old Taige Branch is cursed. Her whole life Taige has been able to predict death and feel spirits. But her psychic ability is useless, because there are always those she cannot save . . . like her parents. Taige can’t control her visions, they come and go – occasionally leading her to an infant in need of help and other times just taking her to a dead body, too late to save.

Taige’s bible-thumping uncle, Leon, knows that Taige is cursed – though she’s not as convinced by his ‘devil-s...more

Walker creates an amazing book, once again. I love her book because she's able to create brilliant, broken characters and yet let them have their happily ever after.

Taige Branch has a special gift, visions -- and she believes she's cursed with it since she can only save a handful of people she sees in those visions.

Cullen is a great hero, and yes, he's broken. The book starts out when they meet -- Taige and Cullen -- and skips twelve years later, where they've completely changed and are back in...more

It actually gets a 3.5. For some reason, I didn't like it as much as The Departed. Maybe had I read this one first, I would have liked it more? Hm. Either way, it was good, but I think I didn't connect with these characters as much as I did with Dez and Taylor in The Departed. Still, this book was good. More sex, haha, but still, pretty good. But like I said, I think I like The Departed better. I love those crusty, seemingly-cold guys like Taylor Jones who have a back story, who have a woman tha...more

The Missing is only my second Shiloh Walker read and it served as a good reminder that I really need to pick up more of her books. In spite of my “paranormal/romance burnout” I flew through this book yesterday and could not put it down. I was cursing Shiloh Walker and updating my goodreads status at 4 am, wondering where the night had gone.

Taige, pronounced like Paige with a t (I asked!), has a unique gift. Ever since she was a little girl Taige has had visions or dreams that help her find missi...more

At a very young age, Taige Branch, lost her parents in a car accident, only she saw, in her dreams, the night it happened. She always knew that she was different, could always hear someone's mind, feel what they were about. She had a gift, a gift that would have her dreaming of terrible things happening to people. She tried to save them, but she couldn't save them all.
Cullen Morgan, vacationed at the same beach with his parents since he was a kid, it's there that he meet Taige, drawn to her and...more

One thing I learned for sure: Shiloh Walker knows how to throw an emotional punch right into your heart. The Missing will grab your heart from the start and not let go until you read the last page. I think it is an unique talent Mrs. Walker has there. Her books are always full of heartbreak, thrill and they have their share of sexy times, too.

In The Missing we meet Taige in her teenage years. She already suffered a lot and still does most of the time. Not only does she hear and see monstrous thi...more

I didn't think I was going to like this at first. I read a couple pages then put it down and read ANGELIC instead. Once I did pick it up I didn't put it down.

Taige and Cullen meet as teens during summer while his family is on vacation. He saves her from being raped and the romance soon starts. She is psychic and he is the only person she can't read. They have a few summers of romance and fall in love. Just as the relationship becomes mature his mother is murdered. When she tries to comfort him h...more

This is the first book I've read that was recommended by my state library's monthly readers advisory emails and I really enjoyed it. Taige's psychic abilities (she dreams when someone is in trouble) have always kept her apart from others until she meets Cullen, a teenager staying in her hometown for the summer. They fall in love over the multiple summers they spend together, but Cullen cuts her out of his life when his mother is murdered and he blames Taige for not giving warning of it. Years la...more

This is the very first interracial novel i have read and honestly i enjoyed it a lot. I mean i didn't know about it well till 1/2 the book was finished but even then i was not tempted to stop reading.
The story is about a psychic girl who falls in love with the 'rich white boy'. This only leads to her falling to fast and too hard and then being left with a broken heart. Basically not to give away the whole gist of the story but they meet again after 12 years because he needs her help with a famil...more

I wasn't sure what to think of this one when I started it. It started out slow, I decided to give it another 10 pages before I was going to give it up and it was in those pages that I was sucked in. Taige is a strong child, who grows into a strong woman. Her life is shaped by some very significant things that happen in her life, her parents death, an evil uncle, a boy who is her first love, and some really good friends that help protect her.

Her life is also defined by a psychic gift, a gift tha...more

This is my third book by Shiloh Walker, and once again, she does not disappoint.

We first meet Taige Branch and Cullen Morgen as teenagers, when Cullen and his parents holiday at the beach side town where Taige lives. Taige, as with many of Walker's characters, has had a tough life. Her parents died when she was young and she was sent to live with her uncle, who mistreated her. To complicate things, Taige lives with the burden of a psychic gift.

Cullen is instantly attracted to Taige's exotic beau...more

I really liked this book. It was nice to read a "paranormal" style book that is not vampires, wereanimals, fae, etc. I really liked the psychic aspect of the characters. I loved the story between Taige and Cullen, though Cullen was an ass for a little bit. He made me really mad, but I think I understand, though that does not make it right. I will definitely recommend this book to others.

I might have enjoyed this more if it had been my first Shiloh Walker book. However, major plot points from the other books I'd read by the author distracted me. Cullen (the hero) has a presence which "settles" the gifted heroine (Taige) like no other person she's come across before (see Hunter's Salvation). Taige is driven to become a warrior against evil, leaving no space in her life for anything other than war (see Hunting the Hunter). In addition, Taige is constantly being distracted by dream...more

I don't normally read books where the plot is about missing, abducted, abused or molested children. It is my personal Kryptonite. I relaxed that stricture for this book because a) it was made clear that that plot is off screen for most of the book, not front and center and b) when it does happen as part of the plot the child in question is found pretty quickly and finally, c)I like to support authors who write IR or multicultural romances whenever possible.

This book had some really good element...more

I liked it, a nice love story with fantasy additions and crime and action. And of course a lot of sex and erotics, more than in most "women" books.
I think this book was good, even better than Nora Roberts' books. It was more catchy and the plot was more plausible and events ran more smoothly for my taste. I could hardly put it away.

As I have read quite a lot, the villain was a bit too easy to spot and acting of the characters in the end when stopping the murderer, were also not so convincing for...more

The Missing was heart wrenchingly wonderful! Taige Branch has been a reluctant psychic since she was a small child. At an early age her parents were killed by a drunk driver and she is sent to live with her religious fanatic uncle. He disapproves of her "gift" claiming it is the work of the devil and he beats her until Taige threatens him with a knife. One summer Taige meets teenage boy, Cullen Morgan. They are instantly attracted to each other even though Taige keeps her distance. After an even...more

This was the first book I read by Shiloh Walker. I had picked up two of her books at my favorite little book store The Missing, and Hunter's Need. This book sucked me in right away I found it over the summer and finished it in a day. The story was compelling, and original. She really has a way with making you connect with her characters and what's happening to them. Because of this I started searching for any other books she had written, I've since read quite a few of her books and of her differ...more
