This book was published less than a decade ago, which is kind of weird, because it's quite jarring to read. Sure, it discusses cell phones, Facebook and YouTube, but there isn't a single mention of Twitter! It doesn't talk about Netflix, either. At certain points, one even almost feels that it ought to be discussing Pokemon Go. All in all, reading this definitely brings home the rapid pace of technological change!

A collection of short essays about the impact of digital media on our culture. Topics include: digital theory, internet, digital television, digital cinema, video games, digital music, participatory culture, digital divide, digital democracy, and after new media. Each of these topics reveals something different about the way we are impacted by digital media and the way it impacts us. An excellent resource for understanding digital media and digital culture.

I particularly loved the chapter on video games by a certain Gérard Kraus, very insightful fella, him.
