I think this was my favorite Atwater-Rhodes book since the first, "In the Forests of the Night." Plenty of vampires, and lots on the complex hierarchy of the vampire world. I liked it (and the others) for its realistic, well-thought-out world. In a way, this one felt like there were several plots or plot threads, many of which didn't feel resolved at the end, but I still enjoyed it.

I am on page 80.This book is the fourth in the series, but the other books have nothing to do with this book. This book is about Turquoise who is a mercinary who is fighting a girl named Ravyn to advance to the highest position in the Bruja organization. The highest title Crimson is give to the person who defeated the top fighters in Bruja. The fight leads to a tie and they call a rematch, but Ravyn gets to choose the weapon. Ravyn chose the whip which is unfortunatly Turquoise's least favorite w

I quite enjoyed reading Midnight Predator even if it did take me a long time to finally finish it.
I thought the characters were all quite interesting. Especially Jaguar who I think I'd read about in a previous Den of Shadows book. There was also another character that I remember reading about but I'm not sure if it's the same person or which book it was in. I wish I was able to read the series closer together so I could've remembered properly.

Midnight, the ancient evil sanctuary of vampires and their human slaves that was burned to the ground centuries ago, has risen from the ashes to open its dark doors once more. And it's up to Turquoise Draka, famed human vampire hunter of the Bruja guild, to stop Midnight's founder and vampire most malevolent, Jeshikah. But once inside Midnight's walls, Turquoise discovers that instead of Jeshikah, the surprisingly benign vampire Jaguar is at the helm. Acting as a human slave, Turquoise tries to

**I actually read the quartet**
this one was much better than the third.
This one was also completely different from any of the others, because it didn't deal with new mayhem at all, instead, it was all about Midnight. it seemed that they looked down at New Mayhem for not being in the slave trade.
as with the third book, the chapters were a bit longer than the first 2, so it took me a little bit longer to read (and the books were longer, page-wise)

The fourth entry of the The Den of Shadows Quartet does not, for me, stand up as strongly as the first three novels in the series. Ms. Atwater-Rhodes characters remain interesting, but her choice of a soft BDSM setting did not help the plot of what initially appeared to be a story of high adventure and intrigue. Unlike her other stories, there is no clear resolution for any of her characters, but not in a way that invites a sequel. It would, perhaps, if there were any humanity in her main human

MidnightPredator is about a Vampire Hunter, Turquoise, who is human and gets assigned to assassinate a cruel Vampire. This takes place in a building called Midnight. The cruel Vampire, Jeshikah, is part of something called the slave trade. The slave trade is something the Vampires do, they sell humans to one another. Turquoise was sold here to kill Jeshikah.

This is the fourth book in the Den of Shadows series, and is another stellar tale from the author. It combines just the right amount of suspense, betrayal, and romance. Turquoise and Ravyn are rival vampire hunters. They are hired by a witch to go undercover in a vampire stronghold to kill the evil vampiress Jeshickah. They allow themselves to be sold as slaves into Midnight, which is run by the half vampire/half shape shifter known as Jaguar. Will they succeed in their mission or only in gettin

I love Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. I've read everything she's published. This is the only one of all those books that I don't own and don't re-read at the drop of a hat whenever I want something familiar and entertaining.
Somehow, it's just not up to par for her. I didn't really find any of the characters to be that interesting and, if I'm remembering right (it's been *years*,) I think part of my problem might have been the lack of any of Amelia's other characters. In most of the ot More...

Turquoise is a vampire hunter and deadly assassin. After years as slave under a vampire named Daryl, she has hardened herself into a killer. One day she is given a very difficult mission, to sell herself back into slavery, in order to kill one of the most powerful vampires ever. While she’s enslaved she meet Jaguar, a strange vampire shape shifter, and begins to have feelings for him. Her life becomes endangered and she has to leave, only to come back to kill her former master.

Yup I did just give it a 5/5. I found the book to be what I like to call an "entertaining read". I've read this book like twice and found it be good enough because it gives you a sense of satisfaction. Too many books out there are leaving readers empty. Anyways, this is a small novel with no sequel and so the story isn't too elaborate but it's fun to read. If you like the overview, I recommend you read it at least once. I believe I read this back in middle school so I can't remember mu

Already a fan of Atwater-Rhodes, I hadn't read the Den of Shadows series, of which this is a part (the 4th book). Don't let that stop you, however, they're all individual in their stories and don't require that you read one before another. I really enjoyed this action-packed gutsy plot. I wish it had been more fleshed out...it felt short and lacking in details that I wanted, and in the end I was hoping for more closure for Turquoise. However, the characters were good, the writing decent, and it

I have liked the books by this author so far and I enjoyed this book more than her previous works but was disappointed with the ending. It was an interesting story with good characters and a well-structured build-up troughout the book but the end seemed rushed and unfinished to me. I was left with unanswered questions. But overall it was a story that kept my interest till the end. I just wanted it to be longer and give me a broader conclusion that included the other characters that are central t

I've finished "In the Forests of the Night" and "Shattered Mirror" in 2008; "Demon in my View" in 2009. This year, I read those three again before reading Midnight Predator, which I've never read in my whole life. It was easy reading the first three books since I already know who they are but in Midnight Predator, I have no idea who the characters are so I thought that it was going to be my least favorite book in the series. That was before reading it.

Midnight Predator should have and could have been better. The idea was interesting and the writing was simple yet engaging. Turquoise is a assassin hired to kill a very bad vampire. In order to gain access to her, she has to return to Midnight, a place where vampires live with their human pets, which she once was.
My main issue with this book seems frivolous. The character names border on ridiculous. Turquoise, Jeshikah, Ravyn, Jaguar. Reading these names is distracting. In my head, J More...

This book is such a fun, quick read. It's written very well, and at times you may be annoyed with the amount of perfect prose in it. I really wish there was a way to describe books like that. Perfect to the point of irritation? You sometimes want AAR to loosen her tense writing up. But she commits to the story, which overcomes this. You could also argue that her prose is what makes the book so easy to get through. Clich More...

Turquoise Draka is a hunter who is willing to take on any challenge for the right price. However, her latest assignment to kill Jeshikah, one of the most notorious, cruel, and powerful vampire, may be too much even for Turquoise. She must get into Midnight, the vampire run realm, and the only way end is to be brought in as a slave.
The book is a quick read and offers the expected suspense and drama.

I loved this story. It was so intense--especially the unspoken love between vampire and vampire hunter. The women in Atwater-Rhodes' stories are always magnificently depicted. Many of her women are scarred internally and have to overcome such odds in order to be strong and fight for what they believe in. I love a good romance tangled with raw action.

This author's series was a very enjoyable read. All 4 books can very easily be stand alone and read in any order really. They are also pretty short and easy reads.
I have seen a great evolution in the writer through the 4 books. Creating such great "realistic" characters, struggles, and humanity in such short books is a fantastic accomplishment.

Atwater-Rhodes was writing these books ten years ago, before Twilight blew up and made some innocent, sparkly reputation for vampires. Atwater-Rhodes makes the undead vicious and merciless. She also dives into the world of all other creatures that exist in this world, not just the vamps. It's dark, just the way I like my vampire fiction.

A book that is full of suspense, action, and a hint of romance. But the whole Den of Shadows didn't really connect with each other. This book had shapeshifters in it. I wish there would be some connection into The Kiesha'ra Series, it would be a good way to connect the two.

Best novel in this series, hands down. Great character developments, awesome plot, and a good base of descriptiveness. Amelia Atwater-Rhodes has seriously grown as a writer since the debut of her first novel. Bravo. Can't wait for more!

Hmmm... Mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, there's a good, solid style and an intriguing world. On the other hand, the characters (aside from Jaguar) aren't as intriguing as the world. Perhaps I'm just not cut out for vampires.

This was my favorite out of all of her vampire type books. Or I guess the Den of Shadows series. The plot is just awesome and I loved Jaguar's character. He was amazing in my opinion. Hard for me to put down once I started reading it.

I love the main character and the interaction between her and the guy. I find it interesting and frustrating how it ends... makes me wonder what happens next. I really wish this one had a sequel that would satisfy me.

One of my favorites of this authors. A girl who refuses to be prey. She takes a job to assasinate Jeshika and has to sell herself into slavery to do so. the only thing that goes wrong is...love.

One of the first vampire books I ever read, if not the first. This book is my favorite from this author and I love Jaguar. It's a nice blend of action and back story and I really enjoy rereading it.
