This was a horrible book for many many many many reasons. However, if you are a real person reading this review (and not a Stanek clone), then you already know that. Robert Stanek is afraid of failure and is in denial over the fact that his books aren't any good. What he is doing is technically robbery. Can we report him to the moderators please?

Wish I could give Stanek the Fraud less than one star. Very angry that I was deceived by his (now removed) fake reviews on Amazon. Nobody likes being ripped off. Now he's giving himself fake reviews on Goodreads. Please be warned. Google "Robert Stanek fraud" and "Robert Stanek fake reviews".

Fantastic

Completely hooked on this fantasy series of books. The world the author created is so real and full of interesting people and places. Adrian is a strong character, as are Vilmos and Seth.

The story continues in book two of the Kingdom & Elves of the Reaches. I really liked both books so far. An epic fantasy. It has all the usual fantasy elements and the characters are quirky and likable. There is plenty of battle scenes and intrigue in this one. We meet a few new characters as well. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Nice illustrations through out. No sexual content or swearing. This book does include violence and magic. I can recommend for teens and up. ...more

Heard so many great things about this!

Heard so many great things about this book and author. My library has so many of his books, and the librarian got me started on them. Now I'm hooked and have read so many of them. By far one of my favorite reads in a long long time. The world is as magical and captivating as the characters. By the second book you feel like you know all the major players in the story, everyone from Adrina to Emel to Vilmos is so real.

Original twists on fantasy adventure

Everything I've read by this author has been original and fresh. The first one was good and this one even more so than that. Vilmos, Seth, and Adrina along with Xith and Emel continue their quests, each working in their own way.

Adrina and Vilmos are back in an all new adventure

The first book sets up the start and gets things going, but this is where it grabs you by the throat. Stanek's excels at interweaving the story threads and bringing innovative concepts to a genre that's full of retreads.

Five stars

This is the second in the series, bringing the main characters together for the first time as they were separated before. The action is intense at times and the politics, infighting and drama drive the story. Good characters you can care about.

Darker than the first and more importantly, better

The story takes darker turns as the author ratchets up the tension and action. This is marked improvement over the first book. Erravane is a fantastic villain to counter the heroic trio.

Great read, all the things I like in a book

Loved the book! Impressed with the story and the writing style, both of which continue to be strong. The characters were very engaging. Left me wanting to read the next installment.

Loved Kingdoms and the Elves

Great world, such a creative storyline and the writing style of the author really drags you into the story. I have a vivid picture of what Adrina and Vilmos look like in my thoughts.

Can't stop reading!

This book was an adventure, well written. Definitely very happy with this read. The story, the unraveling of the backstory, the characters. Very memorable and worth the read!

Action and adventure, addictive

The first book slips you effortlessly into a world being ripped apart from the inside. The second book finds the heroes in great peril with danger lurking everywhere. This is how ya fantasy should be done.

Enjoying the story

Writing continues to be strong. Moves between three and four storylines keeping you guessing what will happen next. Many characters to connect with.

2nd as good as the first, even better at times

Adrina and Vilmos continue their adventures, taking readers with them deeper into the kingdoms and back again to Imtal. A great read from start to finish.

Another fantasy must read

Not since Harry Potter have I loved a group of characters so much. Stanek beautifully brings the readers into a new world.

The full series was well written. I did feel that 30 pages of characters and background in every book (8 in the series) was a bit redundant.
