Married to the Viscount is one of my favorite Sabrina Jeffries books. It is one of the few books that checks off all the things that make a historical romance a hit for me.

Spencer Law, the Viscount Ravenswood is such a stuffy, arrogant and a generally unlikable fellow when he is first introduced to readers in Dance of Seduction so finding out he was to be the hero of the next book was a little hard to believe. Would this stuffy man lower his lofty stan

Abby is super American! Spencer is super English-y. They meet in America once and then Spencer's brother "fake marries" them by proxy or something. I don't know, boners. Will their fake marriage ever become a marriage in truth? Also will Spencer ever confess that he thinks his man snake has lost its venom? Tune in to be vaguely appalled by everything!

1. Honestly though, there's only so much douchery I can take before I get fed up with it all. And Spencer is fucking king of the douches. Absolutel

Another wonderful novel by Sabrina Jeffries. In this this story we are introduced to Abigail Mercer and Spencer Law.

Abigail met Spencer when he accompanied his brother on a business trip to the States. Immediately taken in by the dashing Viscount that treats her as an equal and respects her opinion, even though she is a female, how can she help but fall in love with him. When she is approached by his brother after Spencer's departure professing a deep affection and offering to marry her by prox

This is the final book in the Swanlea Spinsters series (even though books 4 & 5 aren't about the sisters). Viscount Ravenswood was an important character in book 4, especially, and absolutely deserved his comeuppance own HEA.

During a trip to America with his younger brother, Nathaniel, Spencer Law, Viscount Ravenswood, met a beautiful half-Indian girl, Abigail Mercer. He liked her very much and was attracted to her but years ago decided he would never marry. So he said goodbye to Abby and A

This was just okay. The hero was a jerk. I mean yeah, he had a fairly significant reason not to marry, but he just went about things all backwards, upside-down wrong, to such a degree that I couldn't buy his redemption scenes. I wasn't terribly impressed with the heroine either.

Utterly delightful! This book is a great example of why I love Sabrina Jeffries. If you have never read her Regency romances, this is a great one to start with. Don't miss this spunky American heroine dealing with her English lord!

At first, I didn't think I'd like this after reading the first few chapters with all the talk of the heroine's mixed blood, but that didn't last too long and I grew to love both the hero and heroine.

O.k. this one was actually kind of trash. I mean I finished it and I think there were interesting aspects but there also was some fairly dubious consent and also some using sexual acts as punishment/negatively that was really not o.k. so...

Perhaps a more through review later?

ngakak baca awal cerita....

ceritanya Spencer udah kepincut ama Abby, sayang...Spencer ga berani ngelamar gara2 takut ga bisa punya anak. nah, rahasia ini ga pernah Spencer ceritain kecuali ke 1 orang : adiknya, Nat...itupun pas Spencer mabok.

rupanya, Nat mempunyai rencana menjodohkan sang kakak dg wanita pujaannya. termasuk diam2 mewakilkan Spencer menikahi Abby (Ehm....) tapi rencananya berantakan tatkala Abby memutuskan mendatangi lgsg sang "suami" stlh ayahnya meninggal.

sementara itu, hari it

Spencer Law, the Viscount Ravenswood is such a stuffy, arrogant and a generally unlikable fellow when he is first introduced to readers in Dance of Seduction so finding out he was to be the hero of the next book was a little hard to believe. Would this stuffy man lower his lofty standards and harsh character long enough to attract a woman? Apparently not, he had to be forced into a marriage in order to have a chance at love. After reading a romance novel with... pretty much zero romancing in it, I knew exactly what to read to fix my disappointment -- a Sabrina Jeffries novel. If there's one thing Sabrina Jeffries knows how to write, it's desire. Her heroes and heroines generally do not have much reason to feel such intense passion from the get go, but her writing style is such that the reader is swept away in the fluidity of her words, making you forget that it's only been two weeks and she's letting him shove his ...more

Read this on my plane ride from Manila to Qatar, super exhausted. I've got a connecting flight straight to Barcelona so kind of excited.

Anyways. I would be giving this book 3.5 stars. It was good I guess...but I wasn't as hooked as I wanted to be. I was actually surprised to find this book already downloaded in my IPad and hasn't been read. I opened it up and finished it in a few hours, kind of surprised but also kind of expected it. I tend to read faster when it comes to ebooks anyways.

So-so last book of the series, which could be read as a standalone. Spencer, the Viscount of Ravenswood finds out he is married by proxy (thanks to his younger brother, Nat) to the beautiful American, Abby Mercer, whom he eyed the year before while visiting his brother in Philadelphia. She shows up on his doorstep in London, thinking she is married to him, but that's not the case at all. To avoid scandal, they must pretend they are really married, but due to a secret Spencer is keeping from ever ...more

I'm a sucker for romance novels and sometimes I'll go through binges and then get sick of them and go on to something else. This was the second in my most recent romance novel binge.

In this novel we have the dashing viscount who wishes to not marry for whatever reason (I forget what it is now) when one day he finds himself married by proxy. You think to yourself, how does a marriage by proxy works? I'd never heard of the term before.

Well, the viscount's brother promises the future bride to take

Selalu deh.. semua karangannya Sabrina Jeffries emang kerent-kerenn,,!!

oke, jadi diceritakan tiba2 Spencer Law a.ka Ravenswood didatengi Miss Abigail

Oh boy. I really wanted to like this book but no matter how many chances I gave it (second and third and even fourth chances), I finally had to admit defeat.

I love "fish-out-of-water" stories so the idea of a headstrong American woman sailing to England to live with her husband-by-proxy stuffy English Viscount was right up my alley. Sadly, though, the execution of this premise falls flat, opportunities are missed, and the main characters are all over the map in their thoughts and actions.

I love reading about the stuffy serious guys who get turned head over heels by a woman. It started out a little slow but quickly got quite entertaining. Even the characters' arguments and misunderstandings were funny. All of the scenes with the children were adorable as well. I loved Spencer showing all the kids the peep show boxes (view spoiler). I also thought Spencer's reasons for not wanting to marry were sort of unusual fo ...more

First, they could have done with a much better (sensible cover). The books stretches the rules of society a bit too far but for a romance fix, its an easy read. Abby travels from America under the impression that Spencer has agreed to marry her by proxy. Except that he hasn't. The chemistry between them is tantalizing and the romance progresses fairly quickly. Spencer is a a statesman and a former spy. Abby is a business woman and I wish we'd seen more business savvy in her, after all she's a li ...more
