This is a re-release of the third and fourth books in the author series Kiss Me that follows four friends as they find love. The first book in this collection is about barrister and former spy Sir Douglas Drury who is having trouble resettling in England because of war wounds both physical and mental and his deep hatred of the French who he believes responsible for the physical scarring.

This book might have been less confusing if I had read the two previous books in the series first. The hero was a one time spy for the government during the war. His encounters with his fellow spies were sometimes confusing.
Other than that, it was a basic Regency period novel. The hero was a lawyer, which was ineresting.

lovely book to read. very easy and lovely set out to it. good characters with an interesting background and the two together makes a lovely combination of stubborn pride and longing for something.
