I loved how both Seth and Nick were such powerful and passionate men. In the first book I love the small cozy town and how Seth and Lindsey meet in the rain. I also loved their first time after the snowstorm and lindsey's conflicting feelings over her future; ballet or a family with Seth. I remember when she wakes up and she hears their daughter crying and she realizes it's actually the cat, and she's want that life and family with Seth so bad, but she's afraid. Thw whole ballet world is fascina...more
I love these books. TO me this is Nora Roberts at her romantic best. Her characters always project such passion. I also loved that they centered on dance a passion of mine
Both books, Reflections and Dance of Dreams, are about the ballet, which I found riveting. On the other hand, the story lines were weak - not much action. Reflections got off to a great start and then dwindled from there. The segue into Dance of Dreams was smooth but did not pick up the pace. As usual Ms. Roberts characters are good, the dynamics between the hero and heroine are tight and charged, and the research was great, but somehow both books, originally published in 1983, lacked a cert...more
Usually I like Nora Roberts, but this one was a stinker. I only got about 1/3 of the way through and just couldn't force myself to go on. Yuck...didn't like the characters, just flat and boring. Or in the case of the "hero," mean, rude, and a know-it-all. BUT! when she looks into those smoldering eyes (or whatever the description was) she just can't help herself and finds him suddenly fascinating and kiss-worthy. yuck. But then, she must keep a professional distance until she goes to h...more

Reflections is surprisingly engaging, a fast read. It has the obligatory difficult romance, but Roberts is (as always) adept at bring some depth and real-life pathos in her characters’ lives. Not a literary meal, but a delightful, slightly indulgent dessert.
Dreams is fitting companion book to Reflections, this novel focuses on two secondary characters from that first work. It’s fast-paced and fiery, capturing the passion of the dance and of the dancers. You’ll like it. I know I did.

Picked this book up for some airplane reading and enjoyed it. It's a collection of two novels, Reflections and Dance of Dreams, both featuring ballerinas and ballet dancers. Typical of earlier Nora Roberts, there is a lot of interweaving of characters between the two books and also other novels I have read. I really enjoy that, I get attached to characters and it is fun to catch up and see what they have been up to, especially several years later as in these books.
I had read reflections years ago from my mothers stash of romances and completely forgot about it until I started this book. It all came back to me. I didn't know however that there was a second book about Ruth so it was a good suprise. Overall I enjoyed this novel....it was somewhat dated and the sories weren't all that amazing when you think of a NR novel but they were both ok reads.
This was an entertaining read on a Sunday afternoon while doing laundry, when it was too windy to do much outside. This book contains two novels, both featuring ballet. I enjoyed the characters and always enjoy Robert's style of writing. I only took three years of ballet and enjoy reading about the dance positions and moves. It also makes me thankful that my job is not so demanding as that of a prima ballerina!
The second book in the collection, centering on Nick Davidov and Ruth Bannion for some reason this time didn't work as well for me as before, whereas the first book in the collection has improved in my opinion, heh. I still love the detail given about ballet, even with the occasional mistakes.
The title is very apt: one ballerina looking back at her career while another sees all her dreams come true. Very sweet, soothing, homey.
Strange that this is referred to as the Davidov series when he's merely a supporting character in both...

I listened to the audiobook and liked the narrator. The book was an easy listen; However, I enjoyed the sequel more. Her characters were well-developed and endearing, which kept me listening, but the storyline on this book was a little weak.
Another good one... read it in just a few hours, since I was sick in bed :) The stories were a little longer than some, and both left me wanting more, and being happy with the ending!
Every time I finish one of her books, I swear I never will read another. But I always do.
You just know exactly what you're getting with her. She's a sure thing.

Reflections and dreams includes the two novels of 'Reflections' and 'Dance of Dreams'. Reflections tells the tale of Lindsay Dunne and Seth Bannion; and Dance of Dreams tells the tale of Seth's sister, Ruth, and Lindsay's former dance partner Nickolai Davidov.

First Nora Roberts book I ever read! Picked up at Walmart because it was about a ballet dancer and I was obsessed! I reread just about once a year.
Hated this book. I'm really not sure why either. Just didn't particularly like the story line or the characters.
but I have the Indonesian ones. But I love this book either for the story and its dance
This book contained 2 stories related with some of the same characters and a ballet theme. No surprises, just a simple romantic read.
Nora's characters are always portrayed in such detail, she's a wonderful writer. I love that the main characters are ballerinas.
Reflexos (Davidov #1):

I thought that this book was a continuation of the Stanislaski series I read. The romance was, but was disappointed to find this had nothing to really do with the series itself. Great fairy tale romance though!
3.5 stars
Another two novellas in the Stanislaski series. I liked Reflections, but didn't love it. There was something about the story that didn't hold my interest as much as other stories from Nora Roberts. Dreams, however, was great. I loved the heavy ballet theme that set the stage (no pun intended) for the story.

Havent ever really read a romance novel before, so for my first one, it was quite steamy!! Loved that it was about dancers, b/c I used to try and do that once upon a dream! :) This was actually 2 novels in the same book basically part 1&2 with separate main characters. It was an easy relaxing read.
