school book review:
The book Hey Mac! Was written by William F. McMurdie and follows him throughout his time in the army. This is an amazing story of horror, fast paced action as well as tragedy when he and his platoon of infantrymen are pitted against Hitler’s vicious Nazi SS solders and the entire German army. This easy-to-read book by William McMurdie is mostly letters he wrote home while an infantryman in WWII. He also has written extra details and more backround information, now as an old man(about 75 years old). I liked reading about what he went through, through his point of view at the time, and also when he was older. I also like reading how Jesus sustained him, and how he held onto his Christian faith even while struggling. Appropriate for age 14+
