The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe (The Punisher 2000)
A short graphic novel asking what would happen had The Punisher's family been casualties of a superhuman battle instead of victims of a mob attack.
The story follows Frank Castle on his path of revenge as he kills off the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe.

March 11, 2012 around midnight Philippine time, Marvel Comics made available for free download 700 number one issues from its catalogue on both Comixology and it Marvel Comics app. It broke the internet.
One of the books that I managed to download despite the slowness of the Comixology servers is this forgotten gem which featured Garth Ennis' first Marvel work.
If there is one Marvel comic that perfectly captured how Ennis felt about the spandexed hero set, this is it. In some ways, it felt like a...more

I remember as a child walking into a comic shop and seeing this comic on the shelf. I picked the comic up and stared at the impressive cover art which displayed The Punisher standing triumphantly atop a giant pile of dead superheroes, hand raised in victory, and I read the eye-catching title, The Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe, a very bold claim, and I recall thinking to myself "Well how in the hell did he manage that?" (or, you know, the young kid equivalent of that). Then I put it back on...more
This is worth reading for the novelty value, but nothing further. This series and Ennis' Marvel Knights Punisher run made it clear to me - Garth Ennis doesn't like superheroes, thinks they're all stupid, and presumably keeps taking jobs writing superhero books because he finds the lols of trolling not only superhero fans, but also his employers, to be more enjoyable then having to write superheroes.

An interesting twist for the story of the Punisher, instead of holding a personal and fatal grudge against the criminal underworld, a twist of fate instead passes the grudge to superhumans, and Frank Castle sets his sights on the villains, and heroes, of the world in seeking his vengeance.
A clever "What If" story and an enjoyable sight to see the Punisher take on, and down, some of Marvel's most beloved heroes and unbeatable villains. A must read for Altiverse and What If fans.

You don't need to be a superhero to kick everyone's ass.
Leído dentro del tomo español de "Punisher vs. Universo Marvel". Lindo capítulo piloto de lo que sería The Boys. Lástima que el dibujo es bastante pedorrón y que la historia se queda un poco en el camino.

Ennis began his comic-writing career in 1989 with the series Troubled Souls. Appearing in the short-lived but critically-acclaimed British anthology Crisis and illustrated by McCrea, it told the story of a young, apolitical Protestant man caught up by fate in the violence of the Irish 'Troubles'. It spawned a sequel, For a Few Troubles More, a broad Belfast-based comedy featuring two supporting ch...more
