Love, an emotion that so many of us want to feel and be part of. Something that many of us desire and search for and are yet hurt by at the same time. So therefore it only makes sense that we would expect the Goddess of Love to actually know and understand love for herself. Never would you believe that her original marriage was that made under false pretences, where it was just an arrangment to make ends meet here and there. The story of the Goddess was wonderfulyl well expressed in a mythical b...more

Are you one for the Greek Mythology ? Adore all those Gods and Goddesses up on Mount Olympus ? What about Time travelling novels ? PC Cast's Goddess Summoning series has something for everyone as it takes a modern world , everyday situation and somebody like us mere mortals and mixes it with the supernatural and fantasy of Gods and Goddesses with magical powers. In Goddess of Love we meet Pea Chamberlain , she is the director at the local community college handling all the adult education classe...more

I absolutly adored this story! I don't know how to exactly describe it. But I loved Pea, her honesty, her obvious kindness, she seemed so real because of her imperfection.
The storyline was interesting, and so touching somehow, yes of course it is kind of superficial, that one must change ones appearance, but the way it is described.. I found it true, especially when Pea said that she didn't want to change who she was to please others, okay her appearance but not who she is! I also loved that wh...more

Goddess of Love by P.C. Cast is another in the Goddess Summoning novels. This tale deals with the Goddess of Love who is inadvertently summoned by lovelorn Pea who can’t even gain the attentions of her neighbor.

Pea Chamberlain has scaled her career ladder in record time. She’s also a wonderful ballet dancer and gourmet chef. The one thing she doesn’t excel in is attracting men. It looks like a husband and children are a pipe dream unless she does something drastic. It will take the help of gods,...more

This is my least favorite of the Goddess Summoning series through #5 when I was hoping I would like it the most! I love books where the protagonist is an underdog who basically has her dreams come true and that's what I wanted for this book and that is, indeed, what happened. My problem with this book is that the supposed protagonist is NOT the main character. The goddess Venus (whose name I don't understand because every other book used the Greek name) was the one I had to read about the most....more

A nice and entertaining read for inbetween. ;)

when i started reading the book i though hmm its really interesting then as i continued i started disliking it. first when venus and pea go into the club and venus basically has sex with griffin(peas love interest) i just wanted to strangle her.then when i read about vulcan (venus husband!!!) being shunned out for having 1! just 1!! inperfection i was mad!! at then end of the story when vulcan and griffin have to exchange souls i was partially okay with it but making him unable to walk was just...more

Warning...Venus is so hilarious in this book with her use of colorful curses involving the god's genitalia...that you will laugh so hard you cry, or spit your drink out all over the pages. So don't have a beverage while reading this book!

I loved this book, absolutely loved it! The four main characters pulled me in and just when I thought all hope was lost, P.C. Cast does what she does best and made the ending even more imaginable than I could have ever imagined. The two main men in this book are...more

So I don't have a lot of time to write a review at the moment, but I figured I still have a few people following my Goodreads and wanted to send out a quick recommendation while I had a minute or two. Just because I haven't had time to review, doesn't mean I'm not reading, it would be like not breathing. Anyway, I've been reading this series by P.C. Cast and while I've enjoyed the other books in the series, this one is by far my favorite. Not only does it feature Olympians mixing in modern day O...more

I found the Goddess Summoning series last year and haven't been disappointed with any of the books yet. Goddess of Love was a light, entertaining read that fulfilled my need for romance with mythology.

Venus, the Goddess of Love isn't satisfied with her marriage of convenience. After a talk with her gal-pal Persephone about the wonderful kingdom of Tulsa she tags along on a shopping spree. Little did she expect to hear a mousy, awkward woman summoning the Goddess of Love for help.

Pea Chamberlai...more

This kind of disappointed me in several ways but I really liked it in some ways.

1. how is EVERYTHING supposed to work out so perfectly?!? Well i guess i should be glad, since I was super sad at the bittersweet ending in Goddess of Light :-/ meh...

But the ending somehow bothered me, it reminded me of The Host by Stephenie Meyer 8l (now I feel like re-reading it to compare.)

2. EMBARRASSING. THE BEGINNING BROUGHT SHAME TO EVEN ME :( POOR PEA but I guess it just shows harsh reality in the making...more

This was the first chapter that was the sample in the back of #4"Weird character names to start with and a serious weirdo dog that begins the novel as the plot device to introduce hunky fire chief.I am not the fan of the insecure woman, has not dated in recent memory/had sex idea of which Cast is quiet fond. This one is also a drag-ger in it's starting pace." The prologue straightens out a number of issues and bring the comedy and mischief, then goes into the first chapter.
This is a sensual romp...more

So, I love P.C. Cast...but this one just didn't grab me. I've read pretty much all of the Goddess Summoning series and this one isn't one of my favorites. This is a story about Pea (horrible name) who is a mousy, awkward woman that invokes Venus' help to turn her life around. There's a basic Cinderella-type makeover and then romance ensues. P.C. Cast always infuses a lot of intelligence and feminism into her romance novels, which is why I appreciate them. I would check out Goddess of the Rose or...more

It was a very good read! My favorite among the goddess summoning series so far.
I always think that Zeus and Hera were too busy with their love hate relationship, but this series has made me see them in new light. As a loving Father and Mother more than King and Queen of the Greek Gods. I really love reading about it in this series.
I think a lot of us would recognize ourselves in Pea, maybe not physically but emotionally. And I love love how Venus as the Goddess of Love help her to show her inne...more

Inhalt:
Durch die Beschwörung is...more

Tabi bunda Zeus v...more

Nasıl olurda çirkinliğini yok sayar cast diye merak etmeden duramadım,sonuçta volcan...more

Bummer - my last one in the Goddess Summoning series. A hot and spicy series that introduces the gods and goddesses, their weaknesses, and their interactions, with humans, including fall in love with them. This time Venus answers Pea request for help in finding love. Pea is a sweet, intelligent woman who does not realize that her ballet fit body and beautiful hair are hidden under loose poorly chosen clothes and a lack of knowledge how to take care of her ultra curly hair. Venus changes all that...more

I really enjoyed this, it was funny and light hearted, and Pea was a lovely character. I felt as though she had a similar personality to Bridget Jones, always managing to humiliate herself, but doesn't let it destroy her resolve. She was a strong grounded female, no ways a damsel. Venus is just the trick for her self confidence, like a fairy godmother. Who wouldn't want one of those.

It's a tried and tested story that still works in this lovely modern twist. Venus is...more

P.C. Cast continues her tradition of mixing some great mythology with a Tulsa-twist! Just like the others, there is mounds humor (Persephone and Venus at dinner and examining an "adult toy" with curious innocence) and of course lusty romance. Yummy men, although I would say these were not the best of her heros, but still likable (Hades will always be my favorite). Venus and her "make-over job" on Pea are the focus of this one and I love that this set in Tulsa for the majority of the book instead...more

Confidence is probably the moral of this story. Confidence in yourself and being confident in love. If you start doubting yourself, well then... You make mistakes and you have regrets.
These series has really got me thinking about myself, like feminity, my confidence and srlf-esteem, my love life, and my regrets (just to name a few lol). This book was a great addition and really picked up the slack from the last book "Goddess of the Rose", which was disappointing to me. "Goddess of Love" is impre...more

P.C. Cast was born in the Midwestern United States, and grew up being shuttled back-and-forth between Illinois and Oklahoma, which is where she fell in love with Quarter Horses and mythology (at about the same time). After high school she joined the United States Air Force and began public speaking and writing. With her tour in the USAF completed, she taught high school for 15 years before retirin...more
