This book was provided by Joanne Matekanski (sp?) during a mathematics workshop circa 1996. Our district had an emphasis on higher-level mathematics at the time. This was my introduction, I believe, to Marilyn Burns. I very much enjoyed this book. It presented mathematics and what students are expected to know at the fourth grade level. As a then beginning teacher, this was invaluable to me.
Marilyn Burns is one of today’s most highly respected mathematics educators. Over the course of 40 years, Marilyn has taught children, led inservice sessions, and written a variety of professional development publications for teachers and administrators.More about Marilyn Burns...
