The cover picture alone is one of the funniest I have seen for romance novels!
It's not actually on the cover, you have to flip it open to the second page, so I took a picture to show you

Okay, that is hilarious! I get the giggles everytime I look at it!!!!

I think I have a weird sense of humor, because most people don't know why I think these things are so funny.
But it is good entertainment. And this particular book had a Scottish Lord as the main guy(hence the kilt...HAAA!!), so the author writes

Lachlan MacGregor, Laird of Clan MacGregor, has decided to give up his reaving ways and go in search of a wife, a.k.a. an "Heiress." For better or for worst, the survival of his clan is at stake. Afterall, the reaving has only allowed them to scratch by as it is. What will it matter anyway, when the woman of his dreams is unavailable. His botched attempt at abduction a year ago ensured that outcome and a thorough thrashing by her then fiance the Duke of Wrothston. Lachlan's dreams of his "bonny" ...more
My first Johanna Lindsey novel and it blew me far far away from the modern times. This book was left on my shelf for years after I bought it and it wasn't until recently that I decided to give it a go and what do you know, it was like a dimond underneath all that coal dust!

'Love me forever' tells a story of the romance between Kimberly Richards and Lachlan MacGregor. With some twists and turns and bumps along the way, the two who met under less than ideal circumstances started to feel things for

For a time back in the 80’s & 90’s, my reading material of choice was frequently bodice rippers, historical fiction, and regency romances with a few contemporary best sellers thrown in for good measure. Most of them were pretty steamy (blush) &/or overly romantic, but I read them during a time in my life when I found myself as a single parent, and these books fit the bill. I found them to be highly entertaining.

I recently donated a slew of them, but I wanted to catalog them all the same

Saat baca sherring cross yg pertama 'man of my dream', saya bertanya2 siapa yg akan jadi tokoh utama di bukunya yg kedua nanti. Anaknya Devlin-Megan kah? Atau sepupu2 jauhnya Devlin? Tapi ternyata penyamun yang pernah ngerampok mereka & yang pernah membawa kabur Megan saat mau menikah dulu!
Well, Lachlan MacGregor, walaupun awalnya ngaku2 bermarga MacDuell, sebenarnya masih kerabat jauh Devlin St. James. Dia pemimpin Klan MacGregor yang jatuh miskin gara2 harta warisannya dibawa kabur sama ib
Just okay, but that could be that most of this is based on a romance during a country house party, my least liked plot device. The humor is there, but it's not as good as the first of this series. Others may enjoy the house party device...I actually think had the plot been not the tried and boring house party I would have liked it.

Lacks the dueling arrogance from the first book and having that couple in a meaty roles in this novel doesn't really bridge the gap, again house party is at fault.

With the understanding that romance novels aren't high literature, I must admit that for a quick read it was incredibly enjoyable. I did find Kimberly's ignorance and stubbornness irritating at times, and Lachlan's high handed ness annoying, but the end result was wonderful. Honestly I feel the best part of the story was the introduction of Kimberly's paternal family. I'd love to read more about the interactions between the MacFearsons and the MacGregors!
Well, you know, it's a romance novel. Not graphic love scenes, but completely overdone cliches. I know I read this before, but I couldn't for the life of me remember how it ended, so that should tell you how memorable it was. However, it's a nice bit of fluff (if you weren't a Women and Gender Studies major or minor in college) and good for a palate cleanser between heavier reads.

This would have gotten a higher rating had I been capable of sympathizing with either protagonist. I found them both to be grating, immature, and thoroughly unlikeable.

Slow plot and not very exciting. I collect books, but won't keep this one to reread in the future nor will I recommend to fellow readers.
One sure way to ruin a romantic book is to have the hero have sex with the heroine WITHOUT consent. PASS.

Total guilty romp. My best friend and I have read this repeatedly. A romance novel of romance novels.
Historically inaccurate and confusing. A dull, unrealistic story with one dimensional characters

First, the historical inaccuracies. I'm not usually an "accuracy Nazi". It is fiction, after all, and is meant to entertain. However, when the author presents things that are so conflicting in time and place that you can't even figure out what decade the story is supposed to be taking place in, it's pretty bad. At one point, the hero's family mentions investigating the "California gold rush" as a way

I absolutely loved the narrator of this book, his scottish brogue was great - I loved Lachlan MacGregor.

Kimberly Richards has just come out of 12 months of mourning the death of her beloved mother and her father is eager for her to marry so he can remarry himself. Kimberly also can't wait to get away from her father - there has been no love lost between them. She goes to the home of the Devlin St James and his wife Megan (they are a Duke and his Duchess), a scot, the improverished Laird of Clan

There are two reasons that I am pleased I have read this, one, because I haven't read any Johanna Lindsey in a while and it was nice to come back to her and two, it was number 21 on my to-read list! Which means that it has been on my reading list for ages if you have seen the size of my to-read shelf! So, double whammy!

This is the second in the Sherring Cross series, although it can be read as a standalone, the main characters from Man of My Dreams are in this alot, but you don't need to have re

A solid 4.5 rating. Lindsey is definitely the Queen of Romance and she proved it here in this book. The plot is really interesting, the characters are those that you can really invest in and her understanding of the motivations behind actions, especially those of weak and not particularly nice people are so well thought out. I won't go ito the plot since that is already stated elsewhere. Instead, I shall comment on how much I enjoyed the ending, the way in which Kimberley discovers her real fath ...more

This installment of the Sherring Cross series has a little of everything. The H/H of the first book, 'Man of My Dreams' have major parts to play in this one. One of the minor characters and the villain of No. 1 is the Hero of this one. The heroine is a new girl on the scene. There was some mystery and some anger. There was more lovable chemistry than angst between H/H...thank goodness. The Hero's obsession with previous book's heroine was somewhat silly, but he got over it. There were some surpr ...more
Ugh. I would have killed myself ten times before finishing this if it hadn't been in Russian. I'm actually surprised by how cliché this was, considering how book 1 was quite cute. The sequel has ALL clichés possible though, and when you think it can't get any more ridiculous, ten more ridiculous turns of event just take the shit to an entirely new level of Are-You-Serious.

And as I shudder at embarrassing euphemisms, I can't help but wonder what they say in the original English. If the Russian tr

Oh-my-good, I don’t think, no I know - I can’t make a review there will not bring this book to shame.
I was almost done with this book before I realist- I am a sucker for romance books. It took me a day to read this book, It was like it was glued to my hand, the book would just not leave my hand, it was on Danish and I would rather read on English but since I only had the book on Danish, I had to read it on Danish- and I don’t regret I read it. This book was just lovely, when I´m done with this r

Johanna Helen Howard was born on March 10, 1952 in Germany, where her father, Edwin Dennis Howard, a soldier in the U.S. Army was stationed. The family moved about a great deal when she was young. Her father always dreamed of retiring to Hawaii, and after he passed away in 1964 Johanna and her mother settled there to honor him.

In 1970, when she was still in school, she married Ralph Lindsey, becom
