He also read widely and passionately--Leo Tolstoy, Martin Luther King Jr., G.K. Chesterton, and Annie Dillard, to name a few. Soul Survivor offers probing, honest profiles of 13 individuals who have "helped restore to me the mislaid treasures of God." this is not my first review of a philip yancey book, and i have to say all his books are pretty solid. but the two i have reviewed so far - the jesus i never knew and this one - would have to be my favourites.

Yancey is awesome. I seem his as C.S. Lewis lite. He's as deep and meaningful as Lewis, but I more readable. ;)
