St Edmund Wood was an enjoyable novella. Mary is a likeable and engaging character and the prose is clear and concise, moving the story forward nicely. For me, it was just missing that extra spark to really captivate me. It's a story I was happy to read till the end, but not one I'd want to return back to for a second read.

That said, if Regency romance (the non-erotic kind) is something you are into, this is a pleasant quick read to while away an hour or two on a summer day.
