I'M SO GLAD I DON'T HAVE THIS IN PRINT YET!....LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL NEW COVER!!!! MUST BUY!:)

Really enjoyed this one! It's a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. Love the angry hero!! Love the trickery! I kept waiting for it to be revealed that he turned into a lion or something, and then when that didn't happen, I was kinda disappointed! But I can't wait to re-read it now that I know nothing supernatural actually happens and can just enjoy it for the story it is.:)

I really liked this book. It is a Beauty and the Beast take off. It totally worked for me. I loved all of the trickery that goes on.

I never knew what a Whispered Kiss was until I read this book, and could happily tell my husband (who was making fun of the title). I wasn't sure I was going to like another version of Beauty and the Beast, but I really enjoyed it. I liked how the beast was in a different form that expected and the twist of the rose.

I absolutely loved this re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. It was very romantic and so much fun to read. This author is so good at portraying romantic attraction in a clean way, I like to call it "clean steam". The author puts a different spin on the tale by the beast is very handsome, but struggles inside with bad feelings that make him act like a beast. The Father of Coquette plays an interesting role.
Catherine
I loved this book. It is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story, but instead of him being ugly on the outside, he's ugly on the inside. With a few different twists to make it interesting, I didn't know what she was going to do with the story, even though I knew how it would end up. I loved it! It is my favourite Marcia Lynn McClure book now!

I love Beauty and the Beast so this story was particularly enjoyable for me. Valor and Coquette were enchanting.

Marcia Lynn McClure is one of my absolute favorite romance authors - she writes clean romance that is fun to read! The Whispered Kiss is a re-telling of Beauty and the Beast, but instead of his looks being beastly, it's his heart that is dark and ugly. If you're looking for a fun, clean romance to read, this is a good one!

This is the second book I've read by Marcia LYnn McClure and I loved both of them. Good, Clean, can't put it down romances. This is a Beauty and the Beast type story and I would recommend it to any hopeless romantic like myself.

A good re-telling of the Beauty and the Beast story to get it to work without magic. Unfortunately it follows the same overly-meek female in love with the "I'm not good enough for her" lusty male that follow pretty much the same pattern in all of her books. Some of the males are more brooding than others, but the females in all of her books are pretty much interchangeable.

Alas, I am still a fan of her, what I call, "completely clean trashy novels". Seriously, nothing more than kissing happens in...more

I loved this book. Marcia has done it yet again, making me sigh happily at the end, and wishing that this time to have my own Valor. :) I love her twist on the beauty and beast story.
She has it exactly right in the end in her authors note, the appealing of the beast/bad boy. Such is my dream to tame the beast... Maybe someday, but if not, at least I have some entertaining reading to keep me happy! :)

I have some friends that didn't like this much but something about it really appealed to me. It's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast with some unexpected twists. I really liked it.

When I am in the mood for one certain type of book I like to turn to Marcia Lynn McClure. Sadly, my library doesn't have any of her books :-( so I have to treat myself to one once in a while (this time it was pushing up the Amazon order total up so the Super Saver Shipping would take effect. . . .I know not exactly saving money really, but hey, a girl needs an excuse doesn't she?). Anyway, every so often, I want to read a sweet romance that is pure escapism. Marcia's books are perfect for a quic...more

I love the way she weaves a fairytale into her own! This book was a retelling of beauty and the beast. I love love loved it! This book starts by Coquette's father Antoine de Bellamont during his travels home steals a rose from the dark Lord of Roanans garden so he could gift it to Coquette... his youngest and most content daughter who only asked for a rose at her fathers return. His 3 other daughters are vain and only want fine things of the world... of course they ask for silk dresses, fine lin...more

Long has Beauty & the Beast been one of my favorite fairy tales. I can't even count the number of times I've seen Disney's animated version of the story. Of course anyone who knows me knows I love fairy telling retellings & Marcia Lynn McClure so it's probably no surprise that I fell in love with Marcia's version.
I picked up the book The Whispered Kiss not knowing it was a Beauty & the Beast retelling. As I started I actually thought this might be the first book by Marcia Lynn McClur...more

So basically I need of shot of super lovey romance every so often..Mcclure is my favorite author for this moments she can write a kiss scene that sends you running for your husband for a kiss of your own. They are all a quick read and always clean.
Alyssa
I like this one--kind of a retelling of "Beauty and the Beast" (McClure style).

I love this book! It's a great adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. I love that it's a more realistic approach. I couldn't help but feel bad for Coquette at the beginning but I loved the way it ends.

A beauty and the beast twist. Well... I wish I could have said I liked it more, but the guy was just plain scary. Even though he face was handsome his heart wasn't and I had a hard time enjoying the story. I guess I would have rather read the hereafter story of this tale. At the end of the book Marcia talks about how patience, love and understanding triumphs. I agree. I am just not a very patient person and this enduring exhausted me. Waiting for his heart to be freed from the stone encasing he...more

Another cheesy clean romance, but it's fun. There were things I didn't like about the book for sure, but about half way through I couldn't put it down. I had to know how things worked out and I love that in her stories she resolves everything. A very sweet love story for sure.
The one difference I have with this author is that I don't go for the "bad boys" that are really good deep down. The "bad boy" in this book appears in the beginning to be pretty bad, he really isn't but he does appear to b...more

This book is different from other Marcia tales in that...you hate the hero for the first half of the book. And it's supposed to be that way. You see, this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, but instead of the beast being ugly on the outside, and he's ugly on the inside. And as he changes and grows and purges the beast from within himself, THEN he becomes the Marcia hero she's known for.

The last half of this book was completely captivating--the ending had me holding my breathe and cheering and...more

A rather interesting take on the Beauty and the Beast fairytale - the 'beast' this time wasn't some horrible physical disfigurement, but rather a psychological one, where emotional scars had rendered the hero cold and seemingly uncaring. Admittedly he was really lacking in self-awareness and his plan to seek revenge made very little sense, as the 'beauty' of the story eventually pointed out to him. Still, I found it rather enjoyable. I only wish there would have been further insight into their f...more

Okay I have to say that I've become a little obsessed with this woman's books. It's not that they are great literature or even very original, but reading them makes me smile. They are clean and there is a lot of kissing (which I like). I've read many of her books now and they are very similar in characters and plot, but just fun reads for me. The romance is cheesy, and there are editorial errors that bug me, but for some reason I want to read them all. So if you are in the mood for a clean, fun,...more

A beauty and the beast retelling but the beast is also a handsome person on the outside but after being denied the hand of his love, Coquitte, Valor turns his heart to anger and revenge against Coquitte's father and in reality her for not choosing to come with him. When the opportunity arises he finds that he can barter Coquitte's hand in marriage for her father's cowardly and lying life when he is caught stealing a rose on Valors estate. Little did Antone know that Valor was the Lord of this ma...more

What a wonderful version of Beauty and Beast!

Beauty and the beast story. Coquettes father is caught stealing a rose from someones garden, and instead of punishment, he gives up his daughter to marry a stranger. A man, he believes, will treat her poorly. His selfishness is apparent. McClure has a wonderful way of inspiring, and offering a tranquil peace when I read her books. Always, I breath a big sigh when I finish one of her books. I believe I have read ALL of her books (many more than once). This is the second time I have read this one....more

It was a short, quick, easy read and I loved it! I recently finished 2 romance novels and wasn't much impressed by them. When I saw the title and cover for the book I was a little worried. I thought that I either didn't like romance novels anymore or I just wasn't in the mood for them. I was wrong, this was a cheesy romance novel, but it was really good. It was unpredictable and different. I wish our library had more of her books than just this one. I'll have to buy some at some point I guess.
