This is a pleasant, easy to read wartime romance between nurse Samantha and GI Jack. The story itself isn’t too bad, a nice little read following the blossoming relationship between Samantha and Jack. It is a relationship that you can’t help thinking is doomed from the start – if Jack indeed survives the war, is he going to come back for Samantha or is she just something to pass the time away whilst he is so far from home?

The main characters themselves are likeable so I did keep reading this boo

I enjoyed Sally Anderson's writing, but didn't feel there was enough excitement in the story to sustain my interest all the way though. There was a lot of unnecessary description and quite a few paragraphs that didn't seem to add anythi

A gentle read

A lovely gentle read which can be picked up and put down. I loved it but would have preferred to know the outcome. Did they or didn't they do it. No answer on the last page.
