Recommended to Timothy by: I discovered it in a book shop on a dusty shelf.
The description of the book here in Goodreads indicates that this book is a vast panorama of an unbelievable crisis that gripped France and the civilized world. It is interesting that Dreyfus' freeing from prison on Devil's Island, French Guiana, was ultimately due to the extraordinary support he received from a highly respected senior officer - who was not only a very tradional Roman Catholic but possibly an anti-semite in his personal opinions.
