I felt that the poems in this collection played more with language and images than with meaning in some ways. I mean, the title "Trinkets Mashed Into a Blender" is exactly what these poems seemed to be for me - tidbits of imagery and language mixed up to conjure up images like polaroid stills, or something even more abstract perhaps. For instance, in "Dicey's Document", the disjointed lines, "Gummy roses, gummy urns, protesting the scientists / has evolved from a new world order" seems to be a ...more
