This book has worlds ugliest illustrations (and I love it: 3.5 stars). The illustrations remind me of the contour drawing exercises we did in 4th grade where you had to draw something without lifting your pen or being allowed to look at the paper. The the pictures are colored in with blindingly bright colors. Plus the characters and situations are outlandish (a porcupine dressed in full opera regalia). i am still baffled at why my four-year old chose this book - the illustration is a bit stephen king creepy.
