It was hard to decide whether to give this one 2 or 3 stars. The writing was kind of fun, but the storyline seriously disturbed me in several parts. For example, her relationship to her parents and her dad in particular was very strange. When she was growing up he kept a very close eye on her weight and would constantly make comments about her being too big and thus potentially unattractive to men. That CAN'T have been healthy. Then in another part she has a severe crush on a guy and decides to ...more

Wow. A friend of mine gave me this book, and I felt like I was reading someone's diary.
Broadway has skill at writing, but sometimes the content threw me for a serious loop. It did lead me to one of my favorite books (The Myth of Certainty), but it also blurred a lot of lines I'm not sure I was ready to blur.

This girl's blog-inspired spiritual memoir about trying to live a chaste Christian life in a rather messed up society was interesting and insightful, though at times the Gossip Girl chatty writing style irritated me...

I don't blog or read anyone else's blog so perhaps that is why I wasn't completely fond of this book. There were just so many times that she would run on until I found myself clueless as to what she is talking about.
On the other hand, when you sifted through all the confusion of what is going on, I did like what she had to say. When it seems every other memoir I read from cooking to traveling is saturated with the details of who is having sex with who, it is nice to read of someo...more

I related to a lot of this book. It was like a recount of MY love life... but even more boring. It rambled and never got anywhere (she hadn't had more than one date by age 27- a lot of the stories were about crushes she had that never went anywhere.) I was also annoyed that she didn't use ANY REAL NAMES for the entirety of the book.. only nicknames. This gets two stars because I inexplicably kept reading it, and for the lessons she learned about God- also similar to what I'm learning.

I loved this book that I accidentally picked up from the Library one day. Her story as a pastors daughter reflected mine in some ways, and I totally connected with Anna. I loved her search for meaning and real faith. I totally recommend this for anyone who is interested in reading about faith journeys. She is not gushing and fake, her faith is sincere and well thought through.

I wouldn't recommend this book because it was really boring! The author shared way too many details and the description of the book was misleading. It sounded more interesting than it turned out to be!

I'm halfway through this one. It is the worst. The title appealed to me, but so far it's a real trial to get through.

She has great points but I am having a lot of trouble getting past her rambling narrative style
