Do you enjoy humor with your hot vamp heroes? If so, you should give Lynsay Sands vamp series a try. Her latest in this series is "The Rogue Hunter" and stars yet another brooding, sexy vampire who finds his mate.

Samantha is a hard-charging young lawyer, burning her way up the ladder, trying to make partner at her prestigious law firm. When her sisters finally guilt her into taking their annual lake vacation, she gives in only to get sucked up into the disappearance of t...more

The 10th book in the Argeneau series (which you don't need to read in order) takes a sidestep from the Argeneau family to centre on Mortimer, an enforcer for the Council, who's up in Cottage Country (Muskoka) with his partner Bricker, staying at Decker's cottage while they hunt for a possible rogue vampire in the area.

Decker's neighbours are three sisters enjoying a two-week vacation: Alex, a chef, Sam, a lawyer, and Jo, a uni student. When Mortimer realises that Sam is his life mate...more

I actually probably would have given this book 3.5 stars, if it were an option. I thought the book was an easy read, well written and entertaining but left me feeling kind of... blah. The ending was very anticlimactic and I was disappointed with how she left the main characters in the book. Suffice it to say, this was most definitly not one of my favorite Lynsay Sands books.

It seems the end of the Argenau series is near, as proven by this second (after part 8) very disappointing book in the vampire cosmos created by Lynsay Sands. The story presented in the Rogue Hunter lacks originality; it is completely predictable and therefore boring most of the time.

The idea of creating a kind of spin-off from the Argeneau stories, which is about rogue hunters, sounds interesting at first. However, the rogue hunter business is just a small side story of the book, wh...more

The Argeneau series is probably my favorite of the vampire romance books. Unfortunately, this most recent in the series was a disappointment. I was glad to get it finished just so I could move on to a more interesting read. There really wasn't much to the storyline and the mystery that's always woven through Lynsay Sands' books was pretty much non-existent. However, I'm still looking forward to the next installment and hoping it will be representative of the previous Argeneau books.

Argeneau #10, Rogue Hunter #1. Part of a new sub-set of her Argeneau Vampire books, I wasn't terribly impressed with this one. The leech incident was nasty, the hunt fizzled out, and the romantic ending felt unfinished. I also felt that the hero, Mortimer (no, really- apparently that was the best Ms. Sands could do) was not as much fun to read about as the other immortal men as they found their life-mates. Hoping the next Hunter book is better...

Not my favorite. I love the humor in the writing - but the story fell a little flat for me. You know how you are reading along and you think Oh! I bet this guy with the party cabin is the bad guy! but then it turns out he was just a neighbor and not really of any interest? Yeah. Like that. I feel like I spent half the book guessing that things that seemed very important WERE important - only to have them never mentioned again.

The sex scenes didn't trip my trigger in this one either....more

Lynsay sands has come up with another great book. I really liked this book. I liked the plot, all the characters, I liked how she guided me through the whole book. She is one of my favorite authors for the paranormal. Whatever she writes I seem to like. I enjoy the way she puts together her plot. You can't go wrong with any of her books as far as I am concerned.

It was alright. Not sizzling like others have been. Nice to have an Immortal that wasn't an Argeneau. This one definitely ended differently. Sam was the first life mate that didn't want to be turned. It makes you wonder if her 2 sisters might be life mates to Mortimer's 2 brothers. I guess it would make things all nice and neat. Which is boring but sweet.

Once again Lynsay Sands incorporates a lot of humour into her books and interactions. While quite enjoyable, it wasn't as good as some of the others of hers that I have read. Although it is interesting to see what happens when a lifemate is mortal and has family and how that impacts the story line. Can't wait to see what happens with Sam's sisters.

I had a bit of trouble getting started in this book. That's in part why I gave it 3 stars. I also think the characters could have been developed more. But I did enjoy the book. I loved the authors perspective on how vampires came to be.

This is the 10th book in Ms. Sands Argeneau series. It is not one of her best books in her series, however it was very good. There was a lot of humor in this one. I found myself laughing out loud at several different parts of the book. This book involves Mortimer’s story. His life-mate is Sam. We met Mortimer briefly in Bite Me if You Can. Mortimer was on a vampire rogue hunter assignment with Lucian. So, Mortimer is not an official “Argeneau.” However, he works for them, and is i...more

This wasn't as good as her usual books, but it has hope for future sequels. I think I just missed having the usual wit and charisma of the Argeneau vampires in this one.

I read this book in the series first, on the recommendation of a friend. I had no problems following the story as there was very little reference to other characters from the series. But this book made me laugh so hard that I had to continue with the series, starting at the beginning.
