The World of Language Series would be great to pull out with students in upper elementary. The pictures in the books are bright/bold/eye-catching and the text when you really think about it is outstanding. I think I learned something new or was reminded of something as I read through them. I think the adjectives book is my favorite but this is a close 2nd.

This is another in Heller's series of illustrated guides to parts of english speech written for young children. There are about 8 or 9 of these books (one each on nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, interjections, pronounds, collective nouns and more). This book is more informative than a true story, but I think it would be really useful in a classroom. The teacher could read it aloud, or it could serve a really fantastic role as a reference book in a grammar center. It provides some great examples in a context that students would understand.

Grammar picture books are fabulous! It was really nice to have this book with all these example of interjections! I don't know if I ever learned "interjections" as a kid. . . but I get it now. :)

Ruth Heller has a whole bunch of these books that help with grammar--

The pictures are fantastic and are used in such a way as to really demonstrate Interjections and conjunctions. I would definitely use this in the classroom.

This was a fun, silly little read helping children learn about interjections and conjunctions. I will look for more books by her.
