I read this book many years ago and found it to be morbidly fascinating with all the intrigue, plotting and scheming for dominance and power, even to the point of incestuousness. I found myself anxiously but eagerly awaiting what the two main protagonists would get up to next in their passionate battle. This is not a romantic love story.
