Het boek vond ik in het algemeen redelijk geslaagd. Het boek was moeilijk te lezen doordat het in een theatraal geschreven was. Met het Oude Nederlands had ik af en toe problemen. Gelukkig stond er uitgelegd onder aan het boek wat bepaalde woorden betekende. Ik vond het anders wel een zeer mooi boek om te lezen omdat je jezelf redelijk vlug in het verhaal kon meeleven. but cool to (finally!) learn who vondel is after years of enjoying vondel park.

A quick read about Lucifer's rebellion, in old-fashioned rhyming style. Belzebub, Apollion(!), Belial, Gabriel, Rafael, they're all here. VERY tedious if you're not partciularly interested, but I wouldn't call it *bad* either. A piece of Christian mythology I've never really known about, so it's all good. Ending with Lucifer tempting Eve to eat a certain apple.

Tja, het staat in de lijst van grootste Nederlandstalige boeken. Het zal dus wel goed zijn zeker? Wel gewaagd dat ook Lucifer hier een menselijk trekje krijgt. Hij is door de gebeurtenissen wat misleid, ... poor devil !
