Sir Fartsalot's on a quest to defeat a villain most foul!

Things really stink in the Kingdom of Armpit. King Reginald the Not Very Realistic has had it up to here with his naughty son Prince Harry, who loosens the tops on all the Royal Pepper Shakers, teases the moat monster, and prefers magic tricks to rescuing fair damsels. Even Sir Bedwetter can't rein in the prince's R

I have to admit, the only reason I read this was because I enjoyed Bolger's book Zombiekins so much and because a colleague recommended it; I was not enthusiastic about the title, thinking the humor would be much too obvious and redundant. I was pleasantly surprised to discover, then, that the book has character development, a fairly detailed plot, and some sophisticated humor subtly thrown in.

Yes, it has characters with names like Sir Fartsalot, Sir Cedric Knotaclew, and Sir Bedwette...more

The book I'm reading is SirFartsalot Hunts the Booger by Kevin Bolger. It's about a king's son named Harry whose dad wants him to be a knight. SirFartsalot, a knight, comes to the king's castle one day to find the tracks of an evil monster. SirFartsalot was on a quest to hunt the evil monster, so he came to the king's castle for hints. The king saw the knight and wanted Harry to come along on his quest to see the life of a knight. And so Harry's journey began. Soon he came across someone who sa...more

Thought it would be fun to keep track of stories I'm reading to my son! He is soooo loving Sir Fartsalot and the other knights, such as Sir Bedwetter. This book has him laughing out loud & I'm so thankful to be sharing my love of reading w/my little man!!

My little man gives this book, as he said, as many stars as possible! He just loved it!! Highly recommend this as a fun read aloud book!! :D

This is a wonderful chapter book for boys. They will love the off-color humor and the illustrations. This is a wonderful chapter book for boys. They will love the off-color humor and the illustrations. (Though I am a girl and loved it too.) Prince Harry loves to joke and wants to learn magic. The King wants his son to be a great knight, a career choice Prince Harry does not want to learn.

The King sends Prince Harry of Armpit on a adventure with the great knight Sir Fartsalot. They ...more

Yes. It's true. I did, indeed, read a book entitled Sir Fartsalot Hunts the Booger.

I know what you're thinking, and you're right. Why in the WORLD would I even pick it up? Well, three library workers read it with their children and said it wasn't horrible and that I should try it. So try it I did. And they're right, it wasn't horrible. But it so wasn't good.

Some of the humor was actually mildly funny, in a Henny Youngman sort of way, but many of the jokes and puns were ...more

I'm a sucker for farting humor, so I had to read this book! It turned out to be really great! The writing was well done (I was expecting it to be sub par but it really was great) and it was full of silly little things, such as:

"Ugh! You shameless stereotypes!" Gwendolyn said with disgust. Then she turned and exited the chapter in protest.

And whether by some magic of his own or the forest's, or possibly just by one of ...more

I admit the title will put off most adult readers, so when I picked this book up, it was simply to see if kids would enjoy it for future recomendations. The illustrations are very good, I just wish there had been more of them. The story follows a young prince and two knights on a quest to find the "Booger". With names like Sir Fartsalot & Sir Bedwetter, how can any boy not resist enjoying this book? With both kid & adult humor, this would be an awesome book to read with your son. A gre...more

Can Sir Fartsalot--a brave, turnip-eating knight on a quest to solve the mystery of the Foul West Wind--save the kingdom of Armpit? The prankster Prince Harry convinces Sir Fartsalot that they must stop the dreaded Booger before it it too late. Joined by another knight, Sir Knotaclew, the unlikely heroes set out to save the kingdom.

This is a silly, entertaining tale of punny wordplay, adventure, magic, and friendship that will have children of all ages snickering as Sir Fartsalot c...more

This book is written for the 9-12 year old boy. I don't think that I have laughed so much in a long time while reading a book. Prince Harry of Armpit has played one to many practical jokes and his father King Reginald sends him off on an adventure with Sir Fartsalot. The trouble they get into on their adventure and the sights they see is just enough to keep you turning the pages and still have fun reading. The names of the cities, people and creatures they encounter will keep you laughing a...more

SIR FARTSALOT HUNTS THE BOOGER. I've admitted before that I'm a sucker for a catchy title, and really, can a title get more catchy than that?!

Young Prince Harry of Armpit (get it?) has finally worked his father's last nerve. Now, he's been ordered to accompany a noble knight named Sir Fartsalot on a quest to find the source of the Foul West Wind, which mysteriously and frequently emits omens not long after Sir Fartsalot has...more

I read sir fartsalot by kevin bolger. This is a great book and my favorite character is harry he lives in the kingdom of armpit and he is a "jokerster" or thats what his father calls him. harry is the prince and he never wanted to be a great knight like his father was he just wanted to skip to the king so he could do whatever he wants. so his father hires his kingdoms greates knights so harry would have someone to look up to which i think is a bad idea because i dbout the kind knows ha...more

Take your kid to the book store and 'pick' up this 'nugget' today!

My daughter bought me this book for Father's day. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am aware that I am a bit older than the target demographic but I still completely enjoyed the book. The characters are great: Sir Fartsalot is joined by Sir Knotaclew and is tormented by Sir Bedwetter. During this adventure you will meet monsters and creatures like ogres and dragons and a pack of wild princesses. A real page turner that will k...more

Not a book I would chose to read for myself, but one I can see 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade boys enjoying. There are numerous word plays for names like Prince Harry of Armpit, Sir Fartsalot, and Sir Knotaclew. The humor will appeal to those kids that like Captain Underpants even though it is written in tradition chapter format.

I feel the need to explain this rating:) My 4 is based on looking at the book from a teacher handing the book to a 4th grade boy's perspective:) The writing wasn't too bad considering the title. There was actually a story there and it may hook some of your reluctant readers, boys and girls.

A remarkably well-written, silly book. I read it aloud to my 9 year old son and he adored the gross-out humor (boogers, fart jokes, etc) which are presented within a genuinely enjoyable story. I was pleasantly surprised.

Harry, a prince in the Kingdom of Armpit, plays a prank on Sir Fartsalot, the mightiest knight in the whole kingdom. Harry tells Sir Fartsalot that there is a huge, frightful Booger at large in the kingdom. Sir Fartsalot and Harry go on a quest to get rid of the Booger and the Foul West Wind.

I love this book! I'm reading it to my sisters now, so far the love it too. Has a very good lesson about not lying. Very funny, I finished it in a day so I was bored out of my mind the next day.
Nikolai Tichonchuk
I thought it was really funny. I thought it was funny that there was a knight that would fart. My favorite part of the book was when Sir Fartsalot dueled the booger.

Worthy alternative to "Diary of a wimpy kid". It had me laughing out loud, in spite of the fact that I am definitely not the target audience of 4-6th grade boys

I was buying presents for a toy drive at work. I couldn't resist. I have the humor of a 7-year-old boy.

The book is okay. It has lots of funny names. It has a relatively good moral. The princesses reinforced some stereotypes (women are nags only interested in landing a husband), but not the helpless a-man-must-rescue-me stereotype. My guess is a kid would like this.
Angela

I found this browsing the shelves of a local toy/book store, not having heard of the author before. I read this book to my 8 and 7 year old sons, a couple of chapters a night before bed. It was hilarious and it kept their rapt attention--including my finicky 7yo. I'll be looking for more from this author.
