Ahhhh...there aren't enough superlatives to adequately express how much I loved this book! You know how it is when you're reading a book and everything just 'clicks' for you? You love the characters, you love the dialogue, you love the supporting characters, you love the plot...you even love (to hate) the villain? Cindy Gerard is a real master when it comes to creating heat between her characters. Johnny Duane Reed and Crystal are both playas when it comes to the game of love and they have been playing with each other for awhile. But now that a drug lord has decreed that Crystal shall be his next woman and carted her off to Jarkarta without her permission of course. Johnny figures out real quick that Crystal means more to him then just a fun time in the hay when he blows into town.

Enjoyed the story, writing and the two main characters--Johnny and Crystal--that were first introduced in an earlier book in this series. The Black Ops series spins right off the Bodyguard series. IMO, for maximum enjoyment I recommend reading the latter FIRST then the Black Ops because some of the characters from the Bodyguard overlap.

3rd in the series. The hero and heroine actually got together in the previous book, Take No Prisoners. I loved Johnny and Crystal's story. I loved that Crystal was such a kick*** woman who could take care of herself but didn't seem overly bothered that Johnny tried to take care of her anyway.
I hve loved all of Cindy Gerard's books that I have read, but this is one that I have waited for for a while. I first came to be interested in these characters in Take No Prisoner's. Johnny Duane Reed is in several of her books and now he has a book just about him and his on again off again lover Crystal. Cindy Gerard sure knows how to write riveting romantic/suspense! The thrills start as soon as the book is opened and continue until the last page. The suspense aspect is believable and very well done. It was the romance aspect in this book that was a little hard to swallow. A couple of wham-bam,thank you, ma'm one night stands having been referred to, then suddenly when danger hits, they can't live without each other? Eh..... just not working as remotely realistic.
Another winner by Ms Gerard. I got up very early this morning and because I really wanted to read about Johnny I started this book straight away and several hours later I was still laying on my couch reading it and refused to move until it was finished.

This is the 3rd book in Gerard's trilogy (at least a trilogy so far as we know). Still not as good as book 1 but I did like it. Solid B. The only thing that I can really say that turned me off on it was our hero's "I'm just like my old man and so I'm not good enough for her" whine fest toward the end.
Vegas casino employee is abducted by Indonesian mafia-type leader to be his sex-slave & is rescued by her on-off non-commital Special Ops lover who's realizing he cares for her. I know I am going to sound like a broken record, but I adored this book. Johnny and Crystal were so perfect together. What started out as an occasional "have sex for a good time & then walk away" quickly moved into romantic territory that neither one of them was really prepared for. Another solid entry in the series. Crystal and Johnny met in the last book. Crystal is in casino security and Johnny is a member of the Black Ops team. They come together after Crystal is blackmailed by a mysterious Asian suitor who attempts to lure her into his service. I really like this series...although, I accidentally skipped over the second book. The series, to me, is kind of similar to Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series. And really, you can't beat that series...it's one of my favorites! However, this series is kind of great. The Black ops and the nitty gritty details of the missions. Love it. The intense relationship between Johnny and Crystal's characters added to my enjoyment.

Another great story to add to the series. Another great hero and heroine, ably assisted by the secondary players and one scumbag villain. The hero is drop-dead gorgeous, smart and knows it and the heroine is a take-no-prisoners, sassy, hardnut in the body of a "showgirl", and they can't keep their hands off each other. Cindy Gerard is the *sigh* Queen. I think it has become a habit of mine to finish one of Cindy's books, place my Kindle down and just let out a big, heartfelt sigh.
Her suspense novels are sledge hammer - hard hitting. They knock me for six when it comes to the continuous adrenaline rush and heart palpitating romance. I love them all. Whisper No Lies included.

It's an other winner for Ms Gerard. I haven't read all of her Bodyguard series but her Black Ops series is without a doubt so much better. Not only for the stories but for the characters too.

I rather liked this addition to the Bodyguards/Black Ops series. It wasn't perfect. There was one area I thought could have been better, but other than that, I enjoyed it. Both the hero and heroine kicked butt, the story is a bit heart-wrenching, and it kept me reading cover to cover.

Not my favorite of the series so far, but still really good as far as the plot goes and the action.
I really liked Crystal since her introduction in the second book, and now she gets to play a major role and snag herself one of the BOIs. Her toughness came as a huge (and welcome) surprise. The ending is especially impressive.

My favorite of the Black Ops series. I know there is one more to come, but I don't think even Joe Green can top Johnny Duane Reed in the alpha hero stakes. There's just something about his cool Texas charm that makes him irresistable. And Crystal Debrowski, his kick-ass heroine, is pretty gorgeous too. Cindy Gerard was on fire when she wrote this, and that's saying something. I've never been dissapointed by any of her stories but this was one I just didn't want to see come to an end.
I really like most of Cindy Gerard's books however this one fell a little short. I felt like she didn't really develop the characters. This is the first book I have read of this series so I wasn't familiar with any of the other characters however I felt like the two main characters I should have been able to have a connection with. Cindy Gerard creates fabulous characters and places them in suspense-filled situations that keeps your heart pumping!
This book starts out with Crystal Debrowski at the casino where things are going wrong, such as counterfeit money is used. She was accused of stealing by substituting poker chips at the casino. In the end Crystal and Johnny are together. This is the third book in the series. I would recommend this book to readers who are interested in romances and adventures.
