Family News by London author Joan Barfoot. An in-depth character study of a woman, her daughter, and the father of her daughter, this novel is intricately woven detail suggested and enhanced by the news items which begin each chapter. These stories intrigue the reader while acting as transition pieces to introduce the next new character's point of view. The technique is superb and reflects the best of Barfoot's newspaper career as well as her novelist career. This lady can write!
