I read this book years ago. We really worked to budget using this plan. I really do spend with more control when I use cash. The stress of using a debit card is so much higher than just using cash. With the card you have to keep track of everything--okay if you're super good at doing that daily, but I'm not. With cash--when it is gone it's gone and you don't have to figure it out later. Using cash again and the stress is so much less--totally worth it.

Great book to read on a variety of financial information - getting out of debt, staying out of debt, investing, becoming wealthy, and more. He is a Christian and does not hide that fact in his book. He was in Real Estate and was rich then lost everything and built his way back up to the top from nothing. I'm actually going to go see him in Kansas City in May!

The Total Money Makeover is awesome and empowering. This is Dave's older book and not as engaging. While the TMM is very specific and gives you a clearcut plan of action, this book is more general and I did not find it as helpful. Maybe if I had read it first I would of liked it, but I think i already got to the good stuff with his latter book.

Workbook that you can either use as a stand alone or in conjunction with the Total Money Makeover - basic principles of personal finance. What makes it a 5 is his use of common sense and Christian principles.

Anyone who's dumb with dollars
I cannot believe the difference in my budget since I started using cash instead of credit cards. Applying the principles in this book has saved me thousands of dollars in only 3-1/2 months.

And what Dave Ramsey is to personal finance, Flylady is to housework. It's all about the Baby Steps and common sense. You can check him out at www.daveramsey.com.

Not an exciting book, but one of the best about getting real with yourself about money and debt. It completely changed my outlook on my financial state.

This book changed our lives. Basic steps and world view. Necessary read for finances. We're still working through the steps eight years later.

My favorite financial book. This is a must read for anyone who wants to get control of their money, instead of the other way around.

Better theoretical understanding for me than Total Money Makeover. Common sense put to a book.
