An excellent collection though some of the narrative is, well, kind of strange. At the end of almost every story there is a analysis which is perfect for insight and boring at the same time. But it is clearly visible in the writings that author has been very careful while picking and indexing particular stories which sort of ensures type of continuality and that's very enjoyable. A good read indeed.

I read this for a project I'm working on but it's something I'd be happy to read anytime. Scholarly and entertaining, the stories and documentation are all top notch. A great book for anyone interested in folklore in general or Russian culture and stories specifically.
