Reviewed for queuemyreview.com Book release Dec. '08

It has been a very long time since I have read something by Susan Sizemore. I enjoy the premise of her books, and they have a different take on the supernatural world than other Paranormal Romance books. Primal Needs is set in the same world as her other “Primal” books, however this one should not be read as a stand- alone novel. Reading her other books is a must in order to understand all of the different types of characters. Enter More...

I liked the book for the scenes and for the concept that it offered. The only thing that I did not like was the flash backs. I felt as times it interuppted the story. I would be completely engrossed in what was going on with the main character and then all of a sudden I was transported in time and was reading about different characters. That just did not do it for me. I am curious though if there will be another book to this story only becuase there are things that left unsaid and stories t More...

Forbidden love... Times two

At long last we get the romance between former friends and partners: vampiress sleuth Sidonie Wolf and werewolf detective Joe Bleythin. The pair have been estranged for several years after, much to his disgust, Joe discovered that Sidonie erased from his mind all memories of the love they shared during the affair that consummated years of forbidden attraction - vampires and werewolves both have cultural taboos against mating outside their specie More...

This is book 7?! Why the merry mook was there so much damn "and this is how vampire society works!" BS in the beginning? Like if I amassed all the ubergeek exposition it would've come out to two of her itty-bitty chapters. And I skimmed those suckers because matriarchal societies that maintain all the trappings of patriarchy make my teeth hurt and really, let's be honest, I just wanted porn. (Honesty: makes life easier)

It wasn't abysmal and she's obviously given this quite a More...

Susan Sizemore's Prime series always does a wonderful job of bringing a full and complete story to a satisfying conclusion - while still managing to tease the reader so they are panting for the next one.

From the back cover:
Sidonie Wolf never wanted the traditional life of a female vampire -- with her favors fought over by powerful Prime males -- but she must accept her duty to her kind, even if she's already given her heart to a werewolf she can never have. Erasing Joe Bleythin More...

This book confused me. Not because it had been so long since I'd previously read this series, but because the timeline jumped around so very much that I spent too much time dazed and confused. The jumping around in time was occuring between the H/H but also - mostly, in fact - between the H/H characters from the first book.

There was a major betrayal about 5 yrs ago between this book's H/H. They had been partners, best friends and ultimately lovers for a wonderful weekend. I cou More...

4.5 stars! I loved Sid (we got to know her in her brother's book Master of Darkness) and I liked how she fell in love with a werewolf, but vampires and werewolves can't fall in love...or can they? She and Joe broke the rules, but Sidonie erased Joe's memory of their time together and their love. So even though they worked together daily, they were only friends from Joe's perspective. Until the last book...where they found out that werewolves and vampires can bond and have little were-vamps! S More...

Sidonie Wolf is a female vampire who wants more than the traditional protected life that is available. She has forged her way to an independent life, but the love of her life cannot be. Joe Bleythin is a werewolf and if she admits to love he will be killed. She erases his memory so that he will be safe.

Why I picked it up: I like Sizemore's stories. A bit on the light side of vampire romances, but enjoyable. I was interested on how she would handle a romance with a female vampire More...

Nice book. Good characters. Interesting inter-species relationships. Seems to be part of a series but I had no problem picking up just this one. Some of the better vampire/werewolf paranormal I've read lately.

The last of the Prime’s loose end love interests are tied up into a proverbial love knot. An unspoken war and conspiracy plots are bubbling to the surface remain as a secondary plot that needs to be answered. But will it? It’s been 2 years between Primal Desires and Primal Needs. Will this be the end of the series? Will the author leave this threat to the vampire clans, and werefolk unresolved? By the looks of her website it will. She has a Primes #8 “Dark Stranger” coming out Oct. 27, 2 More...

My first with Susan Sizemore. This is #9 of the series Prime. At the beginning I was struggling with characters and their titles. If I had read 1-8 confusion might have been limited. Writing was fine. Very little type os.

It's been awhile since I read this series so it was a little difficult for me to remember the world a little, but I still loved the story.

I loved this story because the main character is an independent vampire in modern day named Sid who falls for a werewolf named Joe.

This book would have been better if there wasn't so much bouncing between the past and the future; not just for one couple, but two. Otherwise it was an ok read.

another great prime book from susan sizemore. so much is happening in this book. i love the couple on sid and joe. and the couple of tony and rose. i love it how 2 couples came together. even though many factions are out to get them. although i think the next book. will take over that storyline. excellent. and hot. if you know what i mean.

I refuse to read much more of this book. I never made it too far past the part where her family made her forget her child. I think that somethings would be unforgivable. I liked previous books by this author a lot but if many more are like this I will not be reading them.

This would have been a 4 if there hadn't been so much of the going back and forth between times and people. The story was good and I liked Sid and Joe a lot. I think their story would have been better if it had just been about them though.

Sizemore works several characters into this story, and leaves us with a set-up that promises more action in the next Prime book.
