The author's political philosophies leak through a bit, which can be off-putting if you're not completely on board with him, but the practical advice is well presented and thorough.
Joel is the master when it comes to preparedness. Few people have more knowledge than he does. But what I really appreciate is that he is not "alarmist" about things. He is an utter realist, and he pulls no punches, but he does not fall into the trap of "looking for a nail, just because he has a hammer" if that makes sense.
I recommend anything of Joel's.
