This review serves to offer my opinion on the entire trilogy, especially since the three books form one grand story which I had to finish in three days (yes, my sister was appalled). What can I say? I had previously read every single one of L.J. Smith's masterpieces, and I was stoked, so to speak, to find out what this was about. I finished my homework in a rush and curled up in bed with my precious new friends.

The entire series deserves a 4.9-star average rating. The story cente...more

First attempt at an audio book. I read the first two as a teen and then couldn't find the third. Be nice to see how it ends...

I think I'm giving in. I can't listen to this woman any longer. Her voice is annoying, as are her attempts at different characters. I think I'm doomed never to know how it ends. To wiki!

This was the best and last book of the trilogy.
Even from the first page you knew it would be good.
Gabriel's love for Kaitlyn is strong but he has to move on, She chose who she wanted and that was Rob.
And if she gets in the way, he has to hurt her, even kill her.

Woah. I think this is the best part of the book. It was amazing how everybody turned their backs on Mr. Z. I hate Mr. Zetes. Seriously. I think he's gone really psycho along with Sasha and Parte King. Haha.

Let's be honest - I really enjoy teen fiction, and I read this series when I was an actual teenager, so it probably skews my opinion. But as far as the genre goes, the Dark Visions book totally hit the spot.

This trilogy is just as fantastic and compelling as it was when I was a wee 'tween.

Going through a young adult books phase in combination with some pretty serious nostalgia, I've been picking up some of my old favorites and re-discovering just how lovely they are. L.J. Smith has been one of my favorite authors for nearly two decades, now, and going back and reading some of her earliest works, I remember why.

No one dishes out teenage supernatural romance and passion like t...more

Really good wrap-up. I've always hated love triangles, but this one was so satisfying because both guys got a girl in the end. THAT'S the way to do it. I really enjoyed this series.

I really loved this book. The ending is perfect. Some of it you expect but some of it you don't. At first I though tit would be another vampire novel but it isn't. This is great for any teen to read who really likes fantasy. The book shows some evil, but it just briefly touches it. The book has some tense moments in it. I couldn't put this book down. I found this to be very exciting. LJ Smith has gotten me to read everything she has written. I didn't find a moment of dullness.

Read as a kid when they were published. Not Smith's best series (I prefer Forbidden Games & the Secret Circle series), but still a good read.

The Passion is the final installment to the Dark Visions trilogy, and my favorite of the series. Kait has followed Gabriel to the Institute in hopes of saving him from a tormented fate and destroying the crystal, however, Kait soon finds more than she bargained for in her new roommates and her ever evolving feelings for Gabriel. Will she and the gang have the strength to stop Zetes once and for all? And if they do, who will Kait chose, noble, reliable and golden Rob or dark, mysterious and pas...more

What can I say? L.J. Smith did it again! Again she has made another grand conclusion to another great series. Amazing story - powerful, sweet and touching. Also it has one of the most touching without actual touching romantic scenes I have ever read.

Today I found this book at my sister's apartment. I remember when I was in high school and kept a bunch of books in one of my bureau drawers due to lack of shelf space, the three books of this trilogy were often missing and I'd find them in her room. Of course, I can't remember what the books were about now (not even the back summary sparked my memory), but I remembered all the covers very clearly. These books may have been the source of my love for the name Gabriel.

L.J. Smith recently changed her name because she got tired of being one of a googolplex of Lisa J. Smiths. Her attempts to get people to call her by her new name have not, so far, been successful. Despite initial disappointments, she will not give up the fight! She also wonders if many people out there realize that “smiths” were revered in ancient times for their ability to take bits of rock and m...more

“You love her, don't you?' [Rob] said to Gabriel.
Gabriel finall seemed able to break their locked stare. He looked away, at the carpet. His face was bleak.
Yes' he said
More than anything,' Rob persisted. 'You'd crawl on your belly over broken glass for her. Easy.'
Yes, damn you,' Gabriel said. 'Happy now?”

“Kaitlyn is that kind of girl that might be too interesting, might tempt you to get involved... A girl who challenged him, who could be my equal... Her mind was a place of blue pools and blazing meteors... She stood slim and proud as some medival witch princess against dawn."
