Angelica loves to dance, so when she returns home to Longhampton, she decides she will teach a ballroom dancing class at the local dance hall. As a former World Class dancer, Angelica is sure she can turn the town’s residents into the next Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. But are her class up for the challenge? And are all they all dancing to the same tune, or entirely different ones?

The Ballroom Class follows 3 couples: Katie and Ross who are having marriage problems. Lauren and Chris who are soon to be married. Bridget and Frank who are Lauren's parents. Also the lady that teaches them.
All the couples are hoping that taking dancing lessons will bring them closer together.
Would have given it more stars but have read all the other books Lucy Dillon has written and enjoy them far more then this - still a good book though.

A nice story about various couples who start ballrom classes for various reasons. Lots of interesting insights into their relationships. Had to keep reading it once I started although I had a good idea what was going to happen, there were unexpected twists along the way.
I loved this one- a group of people start to take ballroom lessons for various reasons. The teacher is a local celebrity dancer- who is back in the area to close down her mum's house. The various couples are having personal issues and the teacher helps in different ways. It was a lovely, comfy read.
I didnt really like this = not a patch on Lost Dogs & Lonely Hearts or Walking Back to Happiness - very disappointed, ended up skim reading the last half to see what happened. The girl who was the bride was just stupid!!!
Well timed story with the interest in ballroom dancing creeping back into popular culture. I found the book a little slow to begin with but I soon became interested in the characters and their stories of day to day life. I didn't find that any of the characters particularly grabbed my interest and Lauren's selfishness infuriated me... however, I may well be purchasing some dancing shoes ;)
I liked this book,(my rating is 3.5 stars) but it was more difficult to get into then the first one I read, which was Lost Dogs and Lonely Hearts. This had more of a women's fiction feel.
Hope her next books comes in the mail tomorrow.

The action was a bit slow moving and I found some of the characters to be caricatures, rather than believable people, but it's a nice, easy, enjoyably predictable read.
Sometimes cheese is good, and this is reasonable cheese, although I wasn't keen on the twist near the end concerning Peggy and Angelica, nor the epilogue. Dangerously close to bad cheese there ;-)

I only read this because someone left it at work, and I didnt have a book with me at the time. It was actually better than I expected it to be from the glittery front cover... and touched on some problems that affect many of us (debt, being unsure of the future, balancing work and life) but as I already guessed... everything worked out fine in the end. oh well.

Excellent, a good story and a scattering of facts, and happy endings all round.
Heartwarming read. Really enjoyed it!
Dancing chick-lit :)
This is a story about couples forming friendships and repairing relationships on and off the dance floor. Katie believes her husband Ross has become more like a brother to her. She is a working Mum and he a stay at home Dad. She can’t help working late – her boss demands it – so would it hurt him too much to put the Hoover around during the day?

A nice light read. A bit predictable. Would be a good beach read.
Speravo di infilare qualcosa di allegro fra i miei morti ammazzati ed investigatori di varia levatura; invece mi sono trovata a leggere di crisi matrimoniali e tragedie familiari.
Direi che l'omicidio è molto più igienico: torno a casa.

Predictable but enjoyable story about several couples. All their relationships start to show strain but the ballroom classes make it all work out in the end! Not as cheesy as that description sounds and a pleasant read.
