Paul Fonoroff loves Hong Kong cinema although during the ten years leading up to July 1, 1997 it was a rarely requited love, at least based on the evidence in here. The reviews are no longer than the space available in his weekly column in the "South China Morning Post", they were written under deadline pressure and with the Anglophone residents of the then Crown Colony in mind. I have read them all over the past few months, a few at a time, and have found some interesting patterns.
