I live in the Vieux Carré and take long meandering night walks with my sweetheart in one the most unique neighborhoods in the world. I'm always noticing something for the first time. Behind every wrought iron gate is a 200 year-old mystery and I want to know EVERYTHING about this fascinating city. Is there a more modern walking tour book of the Vieux Carré? Undoubtedly. Is the a better written, more evocative one? Doubtful.
