This was my favorite series as a kid! I have about 50 of these books, which I recently rediscovered. I particularly remembered this one, so I decided to re-read it. It was actually half-way decent: the writing is passable, and it deals with a pretty heavy issue. Mandy finds out that she has cancer, and all the other Sweet Valley kids cycle through the emotions and questions you have when a friend gets sick. It ends really unrealistically, though, with Mandy getting better by the end of the book....more
"The Unicorn Club" rears its elitist head in this one. Of course, all of the popular school of Sweet Valley Middle School are its founding members and they pride in its exclusivity.

One of the better ones, I thought. I liked Mandy, and I liked how Jessica didn't bend to the Unicorns' pressure to dump her new friend.
