As the dim lights of the train station faded, Christine Bennett wondered if she would ever see home again. With the death of her grandfather, her only living relative, Christine experienced a deep loneliness she'd never felt before. The words of his will rang in her ears: "In the event of my granddaughter's death, everything will go to Vince Jeffers." Jeffers had watched her with an evil, self-satisfied loll that made her shiver. Now, afraid of what might happen, she was obeying a note...more

My mom loves these books. They are good because they don't have any "naughty" love stuff and they are based on Christian ideas. But I tend to think Lori drags on her stories and you she tells you who the bad guy is. I like books that surprise me and make you not want to put it down. But hey if you need something to read at night that doesn't take much thinking these are probley perfect for that.

I liked this book. A young girl lost her grandfather and someone wants to kill her. She rans away and gose to this town and gets hurt. The doctor of the town heals her and she lived with his grandmother. She fell in love with one of the boys named Luke. Then she comes face to the person who want to kill her and her lover recuse her. They lived happy ever after.

This is from the first series that Lori Wick wrote. It has been ages since I have read these books and I don't own them (OH, I do own "A Gathering of Memories" which is the last in the series), and I do need to read them again. When I do, I will update this review. But this is a good series with good strong characters.

Lost and found in love, life, and Christ. That is definitely what this book is all about. This book makes me feel like a hopeless romantic, but at the same time so grateful for what I have. I really have not yet read a book by Lori Wick that I didn't like. I'm now off to find the sequel to this one.

I loved this book, and just found out it is the first book in a series! I was really into it and finished it today (3-15-08). The storyline was pretty predictable, but it was a very good read for me. I am off to find the next book (since Janis doesn't have it!!!) :)
