In Once Bitten, Nigel Vardy tells the story of the aftermath of his rescue and near death on Mount McKinley. Badly frostbitten, Vardy had toes and fingers amputated as well as part of his nose. Unfortunately, the book is very poorly written. Vardy could sorely have used the services of a good ghostwriter and a good editor.
