This is an excellent pocket-sized book about an 1890s skyscraper in Chicago that’s been restored into a beautiful small hotel. Full of illustrations and history and up to the usual standards of everything undertaken by the Chicago Architecture Foundation, the book chronicles everything about this Chicago landmark including the history of the site on which it’s built, its long life as an office building, its decline, and its rebirth and restoration in the 1990s as a 122-room hotel in the Loop ...more
