I love books where the writer plays with forms. I especially like poetry books whose authors are not afraid to try the old forms as well as the new. Burris's poems are like that. Fun, experimental, and some punch you in the gut.

My favorite poem "by far" in this collection is The Wind Swept, which starts, "The wind swept gently across the fields we'd walked together...."

And ends...well, you'll have to buy the book and read it! My favorite poem is a gut puncher.
