I got through this quickly. I love these fast-paced stories and wish, somehow, it happened in erotic adventure-suspense books, too. I liked Sam and Abbie and yeah, the BOIs are great. I look forward to the next one about Reed though I'm not particularly thrilled about his 'barely-there mustache and barely-there beard. I hope he shaves it off for his book.

I enjoyed reading this one--until it go to the ending...
First of all, looks like this book was too short. After each chapter were blank pages that were included in the page numbering. Secondly, there were some jarring scene transitions that could have been a result of over editing. Thirdly, there was very little romance or lovin' between the h/h. Lastly, the ending seemed thrown together and looked like filler CRAP to get a few more pages into the book. Ugh!

Another great story!
But I'm going to make some really nit-picky comments here on things that just bugged me a bit.
#1 As far as I've seen (and I've lived in both southern California and Arizona) real cowboys don't wear crisply pressed blue jeans. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've never seen it.
#2 The main focus of the story was to bring down a particular crime lord, and so there were a couple of places where I was thinking, 'Just shoot him, damnit!', but noooooo, and that hesitat...more

I'm a little sad to say that I'm very disappointed after reading this Cindy Gerard book. Normally I love a good action-packed romance thriller, I really do, but this one didn't impress me. I really thought Cindy Gerard's characters would get more multi-layered with time, and her plots more realistic, and I notice, much to my chagrin that her characters do not charm me, nor do her plots convince me.

Another enjoyable read from Cindy Gerard.
Sam and Abbie had interesting chemistry, but maybe not enough for the book...this was more of an action book with a little romance mixed in. It doesn't seem like their was as much sexual tension as the other books. The first in the series, Show No Mercy, had lots of tension and really paid attention to the couple. This one mixed in the other characters quite a bit. There were a number of scenes focusing in on the villains.

You will love this one. Sam is so quiet and on target. When he meets Abby fireworks go off and they are thrown together trying to save her brother. His team is great and you will have fun with this book.

I'm normally a HUGE Cindy Gerard fan - her books are generally non-stop action and fabulous reads. This one left me kind of cold -- I could understand Sam's motivation, but it got a bit too much of a self pity party for me.
And Abbie's obsession with her brother....it got dull.

I enjoyed the first one better than any of the ones left in the series. Didn't make an impression. 2.5/5 stars.

B+
I loved the first half of the book - thrilling, romantic and gut wrenching. But the 2nd half kind of got lost along the way.

Great book full of action and romance. I very much like this author. Her characters are very likeable. Both h/h are strong. Cannot wait to read book number three

Another great one from Cindy Gerard. I didn't love it quite as much as I did the first but it was still well worth reading! I am looking forward to the next in the series!

I admit it.... it didn't take long to start skimming the book. The "far out" parts got really annoying quick. Our heroine even kills a bad guy and before that she's held hostage and.... The best part of the book was the epilogue.
I requested the last one from the library. Reading the blub I'm thinking of cancelling the hold....

The 2nd book in the Black Ops trilogy. Not as fantastic as the first, but sets up the plot for the third really well.
