This is a wonderful book of, well, short stories, I guess. There's certainly an arch to the whole book in that the narrator is always the same (hint: it's the old coot), but he's relating different tales throughout. Although the author (Christian) writes primarily children's books, this one is appealing to an older element, as well. Kids would enjoy it, but the wit is perhaps a bit too much for them to truly appreciate. Or maybe it just appeals to the kid in me.
