Of all the books about Junie B. Jones, this one has to be right up there with the very best.
Barbara Park is absolutely in top comic form in the pages of this story. There were several parts in the book that set me off laughing so hard that tears came from my eyes, and I'd spend minutes at a time just trying to read through those parts; every time I would read the words, I couldn't help laughing so hard that I wasn't even able to continue holding the book open. I'm not exaggerating. More...

Barbara Park's Junie B. Jones is (almost) a Flower Girl is a funny and hilarious edition to the rest of the Junie B. Jones series. In this book, Junie B. find out her Aunt Flo is getting married. She automatically assumes that because she is Aunt Flo's favorite niece that she will automatically get to be the flower girl. She even tells her friends she is going to be the flower girl, before talking to her aunt. After school, Junie B. decides to take it upon herself to call her Aunt Flo and inf

This book is very cute and Junie B. becomes a flower girl almost but not quite. Junie's friends try to teach her how to be a flower girl and how not to trip on her dress and how to throw flower petals. Junie learns from her Aunt Flo that she can be a substitute flower girl in her wedding. Junie makes a new friend at the wedding and her name's Bo. This book is great for young children to read. I haven't been a substitue flower girl in any wedding, and I haven't had this problem at all. Junie lear

This was the first book I ever read to the girl from this author (Barbara Park) and I was furious that my girls liked these books! Junie B. just right down needed a good ol' butt bust'n for all the nasty little things she done and said. However, my youngest assured me that not all the books were this way. It took a lot of pursuading to read another book from this author because I was really close to banning these books from my kids eyes. I don't tolerate my kids being disrespectful to anyone

First, I can not believe Junie B. has an Aunt Flo. What was Barbara Park thinking??? When Junie B. grows up, how is she going to tell people that her Aunt Flo is in town and visiting her house????
Second, the plot. Junie B.'s Aunt Flo is marrying Joe, but did not invite Junie B. to be the flower girl. Instead, they invited Joe's little sister Bo. (Yes, really.) I feel so sorry for Junie B. But she makes it hilarious. Sensitive mothers may not like this book, since Junie B. wis More...

This book was the first of the Junie B books that we have read. It was funny but as I was reading it to my children, I was forced to change words to their correct usage. It disappoints me that words need to be "baby-fied" to make a story funny or seemingly child appropriate. I don't think it is cute when a kid talks like a baby or says things like "bestest" when the word "best" is appropriate. I know this is nit-picking but I work hard as a parent correcting the

I read this book to my daughter before my niece's wedding this past weekend. It was so funny to see that Junie B. assumed that she would be the flower girl because my daughter also asked this question. My daughter was happy with the explanation that her cousin decided not to have a flower girl and didn't press the issue further. I love the voice of this little girl in this series - it is fun to read aloud because I love to talk like she does (although I sometimes do a little editing with the

This is a good book from the Junie B. Jones' series. She is invited to a wedding and gets really excited about being the flower girl until she finds out that they've already picked someone else. She gets to be the alternate instead. Ms. Park really does a good job of describing the excitement of a 5 year old during a wedding; wearing a fancy dress, shiny new shoes (that hurt her feet!), the boring wedding ceremony and the fun of the reception. Our girls really enjoyed this story.

-Grades 1st to 3rd grade
-Junie B. JOnes is an adult, but why doesn't everyone see her like that? The perfect opportunity comes up for when her aunt is getting married! She feels that being a flower girl in her aunt's wedding will definitely show everyone how grown up she is! Will her aunt let her be in the wedding? Great book that students love to read! Some can relate while others just like the laughs!
Good read for 1st grade to 3rd grade

Junie B. is a very grown-up little lady. So how come everyone treats her like a baby? It's not fair. But Junie B. knows just how to fix the situation. Her aunt Flo is getting married. What a perfect chance for Junie B. to show everyone how grown-up she is! Too bad she wasn't picked to be the flower girl in the wedding so she could really show off. But surely Junie B. can still find some way to get everyone's attention....

It was funny how Junie B. just called Aunt Flo and said 'I'm going to be your flower girl' without even asking and how Bo thought that Junie B. was trying to take the whole basket when she was only trying to take 2 petals and she didn't even get two petals! And I can't believe that they were being so mean to each other and then they make friends at the very end!

As an English teacher, this book drove me crazy because of the grammar. Junie's use of the past tense was very difficult to read because I kept thinking that it is teaching kids how to use improper grammar. Nevertheless, I would put it in a school library because I can see how kids would like it because it is so silly.

This is why I think kids shouldn't be told everything, lol. I did like the way they solved the problem to make Junie B. include her in a way that made her feel better. And isn't it a shame that adults can't get over their scabbles as easily as Junie B. and Bo did. I really enjoyed this one.

My daughter brought this book home from her school library. Her teacher has been reading Junie B. books in class. This one was very cute. I like the way it's written exactly how Junie B. would talk. I can't wait for her to bring another Junie B. book home for us to read together. =)

Andrea-I liked this book by the way it is written and because Junie trys to be the flower girl but she can't because another girl is being it, so she is wishing the worst for the other girl so she can be it.

Olivia & I LOVE Junie B. and her many escapades. She always learns her lesson in the end and does the right thing.
